Not particularly liking the looks, but are they going to call this a "corvette"? Should be renamed or an additional identifier like Corvette Wraith or Corvette Phantom. It's a revolution not an evolution. Corvette enthusiasts please weigh in here! Also agree that the rear end has serious issues. It looks "stressed".

NOT the C8. Rear is downright ugly.

Beautiful:

Not so beautiful:

It's as if they got the front end pretty by simply pushing all the ugly to the back.

Reminds me of a beautiful woman with cellulite.

The elegance of the F-type's rear end comes from its simplicity unlike the dozens of intersecting lines, ridges, vents, lights, wings, etc., that just make the C-8's look busy instead of sensuous. That rear is just plain ugly. The side view and even the front are better. But I believe that Chevrolet has taken the Lamborghini cue by adding "gingerbread" everywhere they can and not trusting classic elegant design to be enough.

All around it is an amazing accomplishment.

The one that would interest me is the ZR1 or Zora. It will probably be the first Corvette to be a true Ferrari beater (Supercar).

If this 'base' Z51 model is a sub-3 sec car the Zoro with 700+ HP could be on a whole other level. A $120k 720s.

As far as looks, it isn't an F-Type but not that bad - personal taste issue. To me it is much better looking than the C7 ZR1 which is butt ugly with those cheezy front air intakes like a deformed large mouth bass.

I dunno, I was just following a Ferrari 458 and the back end looked like Sid the Sloth from Ice Age. The 'vette is a work of art in comparison

Apparently the Japanese have a word to describe a woman who looks great from behind, but who is a disappointment from the front. The Corvette seems to have got that the wrong way round!

My experience in Japan (I go every year) is pretty much the opposite. Not that I look, of course.

I think the Corvette enthusiasts are going to want to hate it, but Chevrolet did such an amazing job with it that they just can't.

The cars with rear engines have to do some creative things for allowing the warm air to exit. I'm not a huge fan of how Chevy designed their rear, but I definitely give them kudos for being able to produce car with this much performance for the price.

But afraid that we'll be seeing alot of their rear ends on the road, since with sub-3 seconds 0 - 60, quicker than my R.,,

Yeah but if you've got a 1/4 mile of road... ;-)

I don't our Jags will want to be behind that rear end. I work with designers everyday and I can't come to grips with this back view. I'll be quiet now.

That rear end is a mess in my opinion. It looks as though it was designed to appeal to a very young demographic, and from what I've observed in my area most Vettes are driven by gray haired older men--reminds me of some houses that are designed to incorporate every possible architectural feature to no apparent logical end.

Poor Supra buyers. They get ugly and slow.

BTW - the OEM optional larger wing in black does help the rear a lot. Narrows the back visually. Also, using wrap or dark/black paint creatively could 'adjust' that rear end a bit. Of course there will be better, less expensive aftermarket options all around in the next year.

Like how the low/rear of the F-Type looks much nicer in black than body color (imo). Rear appears much more sleek and and narrow vertically. The hexagon giant area around the rear plate would look nice blacked out. Maybe carbon wrap to match the wing.

Again IMO, if a car's looks are not up to par go with a dark color, preferably black. A white or light color shows lines/curves more prominently. The F-type has no such problems.

The more I look, the more I like. Probably a buyer in 2-3 years, performance model. The more advanced tech and driver centric displays being very desirable. For now, with the R's dated electronics I just do everything on my Sammy S10.

Performance/speed isn't my top criteria, but it is pretty clear that the future Zoro model will make the SVR look very tame in the performance dept. All of this is contingent on us not starting WWIII or an economic collapse in the next few years. Then no Vette, no F-type and clubbing a rat for dinner will be the priority. Lucky I am flexible in my dreams .

They will sell everyone they can make for the next 3 years! The least expensive will be at sticker,so it doesn't really matter what the "Corvette people" think. You could buy a C7 for a substantial discount the last couple years so they weren't really supporting it either.
