That's what they said in the presentation. Base price with no options of course. Still means a quicker car than the F-type R or SVR and that is the BASE Stingray. The 'super version' in the fall/spring should be amazing.
The coolest tech feature is the auto front lift based on up to 1000 GPS coordinate points. Press Lift, then press Lift again to save it - then it lifts automatically, say for a speed bump or your driveway. Pretty slick.
Exciting. I'm sure it'll be a blast. Sub 3 to 60 in the base model... geez.
I really (really) like the C7. Looks, performance, overall concept... easily my #2 after F-Type. While the F is undeniably "beautiful", the C7 is the closest to my inner 12-year old's conception of "cool" or "rad" that any car gets. And of course I love the fact that it comes with a 7 speed mt.
The C8 looks cool too... doesn't grab me the same way though. Maybe it's because the mid engine layout inevitably leads to a less phallic design lol. Shame there's no stick option.
Yes, already configured C8 when extended warranty on my F-type runs out. Loved my C5 & C7 verts.
Looking at year 2022, 2LT
Correction above: Base price is under $60K
Supposedly $100K to $150K over here which is equivalent to 4 potter to base 6 F Type. Mid engine cars dont really float my boat in the looks department, but this thing looks like what we would pay $500K for.
Many people were unaware that Chevy licensed the magna-ride suspension used in many Euro cars including Ferrari.
Yes, this is absolutely the right call as it has almost all upsides of hydraulic suspension with no downsides of lots of additional weight and horrible long-term reliability.
Unfortunately, the call to use e-diff over proper Torsen is cringe-worthy. More things to overheat and stop working.
Personally I would never consider purchasing the FIRST year release of such a radically changed design. Too many issues and GM is not known for 'perfection' lol. Plus the higher performance $100k+ models are sure to follow soon.
If they are 95% as fast as a Huracan or dare I say McClaren 720s for $100k-$125k they will sell like hotcakes. The base RWD model being quicker than an awd SVR for that price is very respectable, as in less than 50% the price. A performance bargain for sure.
All in all I believe they did great and wish them well with the new Vette. I love my F-Type as much as when I got it two years ago. If my buddy still owned a Chevy dealership I would be tempted, I won't lie.
Guys who like that cartoon M.A.S.K. will love this. And I kid.
Good on them. This Stingray thing is going to sell a lot of cars.
It's releasing prior to tax day, in hopes those returns burn a hole in the pocket. LOL https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...es/1775203001/
This car is awesome for the price. Insanely awesome. For those that hate the antiseptic drabness of electric, to get a sub 3 second sexy as hell targa for well under $100k?? And to have a piece of good ol' Americana at that? This is a home run.
