Default Can’t disable auto stop/start

I have a 2018, I followed all the previous threads and disconnected the connector in the trunk with the purple wire.

I turn my car back on and the light is still on, even a minute or two later and it’s still on.

what am I doing wrong?

Does the car still stop / die at idle when conditions are met, or is the light just on the button? If the latter, that is how it works. The button should be dead now, even with the light on.

I actually didn’t try, I just did it again. You’re right - it is indeed disabled, even though the button is lit

Sounds like you did it correctly then. All you do is unplug the connector, so hard for anything to go wrong. It does a self check when you start, then the light comes on and stays on. No errors or anything else should occur...Just the orange light on the button will be illuminated. That is normal.

The button on my car is only illuminated for a few seconds, then it stays unlit. Stop start is disabled.
