CarPlay for 2018 400 Sport F-Type

Hello,

I took my 400 sport in to the local Jaguar dealer to request the installation of the Apple CarPlay software. I was told that CarPlay cannot be installed on any F type vehicles. Does anyone have CarPlay installed? If yes, what information can you share to assist me in getting it installed on my car.

According to the Carplay site, only the 2019 Jaguars are supported. As far as I know, Jaguar doesn't support iOS with the older models.

HI,

I just had my f-type 2019, my daeler had to update the software and now I have apple carplay. But for a Samsung, I still have to wait to have the Android auto.
Thus, the apple carplay is now avalaible.

You need the 2019 MY infotainment system in order to have CarPlay installed by a Jaguar dealer. It will not work on earlier F-types. Some members of this forum have discussed workarounds, I suggest you do a search on the forum.

The one question I don't seem to find answered anywhere is if the 2019 MY infotainment system can be purchased and installed in a previous model year car.

No it can't, had my march 2018 in for first service and asked about the CarPlay, if your car has the 10" screen and an sd slot under the centre console yes, no sd slot , simply no.
