I spoke with the main NA JLR Customer Service center this morning trying to determine when the next automatic update is due.
I have been waiting for this because of problems with Carplay (and Waze) not providing voice directions in nav mode.
I got what I believe is the true situation.
Apparently, the problem was caused by an Apple software update a few months back.
It affected all JLR vehicles (Jags and Landrovers) and some other manufacturers as well (eg Lincoln).
JLR is having difficulty getting Apple to pay attention to the issue.
So, any update to fix the problem needs to either come from Apple direct, and/or Apple needs to provide s/w info to JLR in order that JLR can modify its s/w to work.
I hate s/w updates that do more harm than good!! You can specically include Apple and Microsoft
