That sounds interesting... however, this weekend is the BMC Jag drive event. So you might get a better turnout if you aim for the following weekend.

Heading out to the Sacramento area sounds like fun and would give the wife and I a chance to visit with the in-laws afterwards so they can see the new car. I'm already committed this weekend, but could potentially do next Sunday (or most any Sunday... our Saturdays afternoons are generally booked well in advance.)

Sounds good, Merlin- I'll let you know when the group is getting together in the future. We get together for small group drives about once every three weeks or so, and I scheduled this one for Saturday a few weeks ago, knowing it was the only Saturday I had open for a while (and even then, not fully - I'm hosting a poker game at the house that afternoon!).

I've got a camping trip coming up for the two weekends following this one, so I'll plan something for early June, and post here about it.

Hope the in-laws love the car! My family doesn't really "get" the whole car thing, so I've stopped trying to get them excited about what I've got in the garage anymore. All I end up hearing about is "why would you spend so much on a car...?".

Yeah, my wife doesn't get excited about cars, and in fact gets tired of me talking about car stuff, which is why I like these forums and car meet ups. For the wife, as long as it has heated seats, decent cargo space, and drives well she's happy. She used to give me a hard time about spending so much on a car, but now that I have already purchased the car, she likes how it looks at least.

The inlaws are more appreciative of nice cars... though they are die hard BMW fans.
