Default Center Vent Rattle

Unless the road is perfectly smooth, I get constant rattle noise from the rising center vent. If I gently press on it from the top or side, it stops rattling even over rough roads. Does any one have this issue? Anything I can do to fix it?

I’ve got the same thing. I also noticed the glove box door rattled but that’s easily fixed. Probably have to take the dash a part to get a better look.

The only interior rattle mine had when I first picked it up was the glove box door, fixed in a jiffy by adding a thin strip of velcro across the top edge of the inside of the glove box where the door closes against it.
Can't help with the dash or centre vent rattle, never had either on mine.

Does it rattle when it's closed?

I wish I had the glovebox issue instead of this haha, atleast that seems like a much easier fix. The center vent, being a moving part, makes it hard to fix and not mess with the open/close function.

Interesting, this happened to me last week. Think I've only noticed that a couple of times in 6 years, so it isn't a regular occurrence for me.

I SWEAR there was a procedure or youTube video showing how to repair/lubricate the vent opening mechanism.

Couldn't find it just now.

Mine has a squeak when it's really hot out and the vents are in the up position as the suspension negotiates imperfections in the roadway, almost as if the vents had been tightened too much. It goes away after the cabin cools which is enough for me to not worry about.
