Default Centering ring for ferrada wheels?

So the dealer thinks the vibration is coming from the Ferradas needing centering rings. I'm open to that since the stock wheels were good after being balanced.

Has anyone used a specific brand? I'm just starting my research so all help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Don't. The ferrada come with a centering ring ?? ---- I'm having them put on my car today but my dealer said they come with one --- I ordered 17 mm spacers from motor sports tech and they asked me if I wanted centering rings but I called the dealer that I bought the wheels from and he said they come with the wheels ????

Most aftermarket wheels need to be fitted with a spigot ring as the centre bore is always larger so it can be used on many vehicles. HTH

Ok, I got a chance to call Ferrada.

The wheel dealer should have sent the wheels with rings. Either he did not or the tire shop didn't use them.

For those interested, here are the ferrada specs on an FR1 for a f-type v8s:

Hub size (jaguar): 63.4
Center bore (Ferrada): 73.1

Are there any reasonably priced rotary formed wheels that are hub centric for our cars?

Ummmm, either I have misconstrued the OP's issue/question, or there is a lot of bad information in this thread. "Centering Rings" are NOT a separate part.

The concentric centering ring is an integral feature built into the OEM Hub on the vehicle. This extension of the hub fits into a precisely sized corresponding depression cut into the back face of the wheel... forcing the wheel to be centered on the hub before tightening a single lug nut.

If a certain brand of wheel is machined without this precisely sized depression, and instead has a larger center opening that allows the concentric ring on the hub to simply float freely in that opening, then the alignment of the lug nuts themselves would be the only element centering the wheel on the hub. This could absolutely be a problem, especially if someone is using the incorrect style of lug nut.

When you purchase an adapter/spacer for the F-Type, it has both the female cut-out on the back face of the spacer (just like an OEM wheel, and the same male concentric projection on the outer face of the spacer, so once the spacer is bolted onto the hub, the spacer itself now presents the same self-centering concentric ring feature that existed on the OEM hub, for the wheel to attach to.

Note the centering lip or ring projecting about 8mm from the center hole of this spacer. This mates into a corresponding depression cut into the wheel. It is not a separate part, and I do not see how this concept could be safely replicated with a separate part.

I'm sure the OP is talking about hub centric wheel rings, I have used them before, for example see here: Hub Centric Rings / Alloy Wheels Spigot Rings Centre Rings 66.6-65.1 66.6-65.1 | eBay
They are used where the wheels you want to fit have a bigger centre bore than the hubs on the car. They slot into the bore of the wheel and then fit snugly over the lip of the hub.

OzXFR is on target. No spacers in use. The center bore of the ferradas is larger than the hub of the f-type. I spoke with Ferrada and the wheel reseller should have provided the hub rings. They run about $5 a piece at most from what I understand.

I bought Savini BM3s for my XF that where reasonably priced (what's reasonable?) that were made to 63.4. There are cast wheels. They may make a rotary forged. They do make forged at a higher cost of course.

Pretty sure you've misconstrued this one.

I'm running Niche Essen M147's. Not sure if they are rotary formed but I do know the fitment is perfect and they do not require hubcentric rings.

I decided just yesterday to get the Ferrada FR-2 wheels. Did you get yours online or local? If online, where did you get them from? Please keep the thread posted as to what centering rings you end up getting and from where.

thanks!

That's what I was wondering. Why would there be a need for that?
