Climate Control/AC Issues
My 2019 P-380 AC, randomly, will shut off while driving and/or the center vent will not go up and/or the climate control will not allow me to change the vents. Otherwise, most of the times the AC works perfectly.
I took the car to LR/Jaguar dealer in Melbourne FL. I was advised to run a leak test for $1,100, however, this may not be the reason for the issue(s). The warranty ends at the end of 2024 and it is not covered by the warranty.
Did any member encountered the same problems and how did your solved it?
Thank you in advanced for your response.
Cheers,
Edgar
PS. I found the same possible issues provided by the service department, that I found in ChatGPT, for free.

I left a vm to the Melbourne dealer CS manager and next week I will call US Jaguar HQ Customer Relationship Center.
More info to follow.
I looked for the original owner purchased date and found it was bought in New Jersey on 12/31/2019. It is within the 60 months b/b warranty. Thanks for making this observation. Now I have more bullets to win my case with JLR dealer and CRC.

Can't see how they can refuse.
Good luck!!
I would check for any other issues before year end.

Ah yes the dreaded DPS valve!
This must have been a problem to solve for Jaguar because the latest JTB is V7! I have attached it.
I followed the DPS valve part numbers in the JTB and for my 2014 XJR it was wrong. So be aware there are two different sizes of DPS valves.
Your under warranty so this won't apply but after all my repairs I would now replace the entire compressor. Get a new compressor with warranty for not a lot more money.
I got an OEM Sanden compressor for $320. The DPS were around $150 because I had to buy two since the first one was wrong! Had to order one from the UK and did not want to pay shipping back.
Plus it did not seem to fix the problem. AC worked but still kind of wonky?
So after replacing the DPS valve I ended up replacing the compressor anyway. Nothing like going back in and doing the same thing again! It's not a small job on the XJ or I imagine the F-Type. I did get a laugh reading the JTB as the hours where ridiculous. 1.8-2.4 hours for most models. I was beat after just removing it and that was well past 3 hours. Not surprisingly the second time was MUCH faster!
On a brighter note the AC is working great as we hit the hot part of the year!

Update:
Spoke to USA Customer Relationship Center, the vehicle went into service (purchased) on 12/31/2018. The manufacture warranty expired six months ago.
The dealer provided a one year CPO warranty. I spoke to Paola, dealer CS manager, she understand my concerns. We agreed that if the issue is either electric, mechanical, and/or component (ie sensors), then it will be covered by the warranty. If the issue is normal wear and tear, then I will carry the cost. I really hope they are honest.
More updates to follow.
