Last year the County resurfaced the roads in my neighborhood with what is called a "chip seal" rather than traditional asphalt. I'm sure it was for cost reasons, they have a truck spray a thin layer of tar on the street, another truck comes behind it and drops a layer of pea gravel, and then a bulldozer comes along and flattens everything out.

But what we really end up with is a road that isn't a lot better than straight gravel. Driving my Jaguar along it sounds like being inside a popcorn popper. And the small gravel sticks to the tires of both of my vehicles and then gets tracked inside my garage. It is a constant effort to sweep the floor clean and use a Shop Vac to get all of the grit that accumulates in the seams in the floor. I now use a broom every couple of days to sweep the floor clean just outside the drivers side doors just to minimize the amount of grit that my shoes will pick up and transfer to my floor mats. I'm considering getting a couple of those industrial floor mats to place on the garage floor just to wipe my feet on just before I enter the cars.

Lived in rural Colorado many moons ago and that's how they handled many of the roads back in the day. What a mess! At the time, we had an older Datsun PU and VW Beetle so it didn't really matter too much vehicle-wise, but I do recall that [when fresh] you could track that stuff all over the place. Good luck with that!

I use the Shark hand held vacuum. https://www.sharkclean.com/exclusive...ndheld-vacuum/. Works great, though the long nozzle isn't thin enough to get between the seat and door area.

I gave up after reading a myriad of online reviews and comparisons. Very few that aren't sponsored, I think. Sticking with my corded made in USA Metro vac with all the attachments, including micro brushes and nozzles for the real hard to clean spaces.
