Drove it to the hamptons this afternoon and decided to take a soft count of the cars going back towards nyc.

And 2 ftypes both coupes one black one silver

Also many masers and one 918 white with red accents on the rear

 

Interesting, but rarity is not necessarily a positive.

As an example, Acura ZDX cars are very rarely seen too.

I would feel much better about the lack of F-Types on the road, if the waiting list for them was several months out, as opposed to lots of cars sitting on dealers' lots which is what appears to be the case right now.

 

What...?? No Ferraris or Lambos?

 

It appears that dealers mostly have '16's which is a good thing! If a dealer has 5-6 cars in stock that is nothing and it appears that R's are never on the lot very long. Also R roadsters are now just starting to be in stock. A lot of people don't wait for special orders, me, so it is good that cars are on the lots.

 

Regarding on the lot...I wouldn't put too much into that. I mean unless literally you are seeing the exact same car on the same lot for months on end. You want some cars on lot as part of your inventory. My local Porsche dealers have tons of new 911s in inventory FWIW.

I saw several California's which at a distance almost look like f types as well as a 458 black and silver 430 and the same yellow lambo spyder gallardo I saw last week I suspect most of those exotics are out at the hamptons house for the summer and an alternate car is used to commute "home"
