Default Coupe cargo shelf issue

The cargo shelf on on 2018 coupe constantly is falling off the hinge pins. It seems that the width of the pins on each side of the cargo area isn't wide enough to engage with the hinge openings on the shelf itself. If the cargo shelf section moves at all from side to side, one side allows the shelf to detach from the hinge pin and not align properly, which then causes the shelf to become cockeyed. Has anyone else had this issue? Have you come up with a solution?

I think many have had this issue. My memory is that wrapping the posts with electrical tape, shrink wrap, etc. can fix the issue.

Known issue covered by JTB00618 - parcel shelf loose or adrift. The fix is to fit a couple of bush grommets, T2R35506, to stop the cover moving sideways so far.

Thanks. I just pulled two rubber grommets out of my toolbox and they snuggly fit on both posts. Hopefully, they will keep the cargo cover from drifting side to side and falling off the hinge pins.......we will see. thanks again.

When mine fell off the cover managed to jam itself against the rear door and in forcing it open one of the cords broke. Grommets fitted and cover replaced under warranty - the cords aren't a replaceable item. I think newer MYs have a changed cover design that has replaceable cords.
