Default Cup holder cover

Hi all, does anyone know how easy it is (or if it's even possible) to change the cup holder cover? The car is a 2014 F-type R.
Mine has a large scratch on it from the previous owner and I'd like to change it myself if possible. I have a new one on order from my local dealer.
Thanks in advance,
Mick

Is there supposed to be one?

Sorry I didn't realise some models didn't have a cover. It's a spring loaded affair with a silver button to release it.

While you are at it, jazz up the inside. These are pretty slick.

They sense a few seconds of vibration + darkness (something on top like a bottle) and then radiate colored led light. Covers up the scratched-looking alum bottoms.

Yes, these say Mazda. Wanted to try and then pass down to my buddy. Then I'll ask them to do a Jag logo.

They are a perfect fit. Maybe I can get a 'lit' pic later. Raymax Luminous Gear.

Three orders and they'll make Jag ones.

I can't imagine liking those. I'd actually like to have a storage cubby with a cover instead of cup holders, but my insistence on a manual transmission nixed that.

For those with an auto trans and the "normal" cupholders with lid, it's very easy to turn it into a storage cubby (I keep my fit-overs in there).
The cup holder insert simply pulls out, just squeeze the two long side together and pull upwards. Then line the cavity with a piece of black car carpet cut to shape. Top tip - cut it about 4 cm wider than the actual bottom width measurement so the extra goes up the front edge and covers up the bit of a gap there, looks much better.

You don't need to order 3 sets. I bought a pair of Jaguar ones on Ebay for $15.

Just ordered mine as well. The aluminum at the bottom of my cup holders are pretty scratched up. This is what I got when my order was placed:

Your order was placed.
Estimated delivery: Dec 27 – Jan 30
We'll send you an email confirmation soon.

We shall see. I hope they look decent even if they have no power. I'm thinking that keeping them charged up could be a hassle.

Mine arrived today! Darn things look pretty good, fit perfectly in the cup holder, and work as described. Best part is they cover up the scratched silver at the bottom of the cup holder. The red light on the logo looks perfect with the Jags interior lighting.

They charge via a usb port (cable provided) cryptic instructions say they will "charge up full 2 hours, drive 15 days" Opening or closing doors is enough motion to trigger them on, so they are visible as you enter the vehicle. Almost looks factory.

My only concern (besides that they are made in china and inexpensive) is that if one's beverage of choice were to spill in the cup holder and puddle, I doubt these are water tight and I imagine that would spell the end of the lighted logo.

Still for $15, you got to love these. May order another set for my desktop...

Back to the original question: does anyone know how to remove the cup holder lid?. I would also like to have this information.
Has the OP any information to share? The soft coating on the lid marks easily.
