cutting compound and polishing compound ?
It has been some time since I buffed/polished my car. The F Type is ceramic coated so there isn't a need but since I picked up the Porsche Cayman, I am leaning towards doing the detail work myself and then ceramic coating it once all done. Anyone have experience with Chemical Guys C4 and P4 for the correction compound and polishing compound? Prior to the F Type I used Zaino on my old 911 but since then there has been so many decent priced and more accessible products to choose from.
I've been using Menzerna polishing compound, and have two grades of compound with a little more cut. When I run out of the Menzerna PO I'm not sure what I'll get. I don't the brand of compound is that important, but I'm no pro detailer. I'm sure Chemical Guys is as good as any other. It's the post-polishing products I pay more attention to. I've been using cQuartz since I got the Jaguar. My hood is looking sad right now even with the ceramic coat because it lives outside and we get some pretty scorching sun here. This will be the second time I've needed to polish some cloudy clearcoat on the hood, so I need to be cautious and do the minimum necessary.
I had Menzerna now that you mentioned it but living in the desert and storing in the garage dried it up. I was hoping the Chemical Guys would be decent enough to prep the surface before trying to ceramic coat the car. I have detailed cars for years and think I am over complicating how to apply a ceramic coating.

P.S. Apparenty Menzerna has been renamed to Jescar. My previous car got Menzerna Power Lock polymer sealant. That's when I got the quart bottle of the finishing polish.
Here's an auto detailing site that is guaranteed to waste a few hours (days?) of your time!

Over the past 2 years I've used the Scholl concepts products with a shinemate dual action polisher and I have to say it has made life very easy https://www.schollconcepts.com/en/
