Daily driver or weekend toy?
After multiple test drives, I'm considering an F-Type V6 Coupe as a daily driver. The car feels very liveable and balanced. I'd just get dedicated sets of summer/winter wheels and tires (live in the Northeast US).
We have a Range Rover Sport at home for family duty and bad weather days, and I can WFH 2-3 days each week.
Curious to hear feedback and experience from existing owners. Anyone use their F-Type as their primary driver?

Good luck.
From my fast...eh, I mean vast experience, they are outstanding (so much so I've basically decided to use them year-round).
Lots of luck..we'll be watching.

Daily driver. The load space is good enough for most usual things. I'll get the weeks shopping in it no sweat, and it will fit 3 cases of sparkling and a case of beer in it, so that is the essentials. Some boxes wont fit because of the depth, but if it isnt your only car, no drama there.
Many, many of us use them as daily drivers. I store mine in the winter, but put 8-9000 miles on it in the summer - over 26,000 happy miles so far. I'm running Michelin Pilot Super Sports, as I don't drive it in the winter.

I'll look for you out there Shaun. I'm in the Malvern area. Wish they still offered Lunar Grey, that's a classic look.
My V6S 6-speed F-TYPE is my daily driver. I also own a Porsche Cayman S that I've been having to force myself to drive at least once a week to keep the battery from going flat. Regardless, I have a 30 minute commute, each way, 5 days a week in the F-TYPE and it has proven to be completely up to the task. The F-TYPE has been great in all types of weather - rain, snow and extreme heat. The air conditioning system is excellent and has been doing a fantastic job of cooling the car on recent 100 degree days after sitting in an uncovered parking lot all day. I do recommend a windscreen sun screen to help keep the car a little cooler than it would be otherwise while parked.
Michelin PSS is a great summer street tire. I've had them on my last 4 cars for April thru December. Will go this route if/when the P Zero need to be replaced.
My previous DD and sole vehicle was a XJ Supercharged. Drove it for two solid years without a single issue. It was the only car I owned and it got me through any situation I ever needed other than off-roading. @35K mi., I was convinced that Jag got it together and decided the v8F-R would be the way I would have it all, being that they shared all the attributes necessary to determine reliability.
Quiet as it's kept however, I would most definitely have a second car or in my case, a truck. There will be several times in your life that you'll need to do something that the F won't be appropriate for, even if it means going to the grocery store or Home Depot.
You'll find 100% of the members here have a secondary vehicle. Most seem to have 4-5 cars in fact according to their virtual garage.
Since you made the distinction between DD and sole car. DD=yes, Sole=no.
An F and a RR is a pairing that will get you through life handsomely.
I didn't address comfort here, only reliability. I've given my views on the topic of comfort in a different recent thread.
Bottom line, My XJ is currently for sale.

V8S is my DD. (Really every other day since I carpool.) The spouse unit has a C63 which can carry more stuff in style and has sufficient scoot to keep me amused. I also have a Taco for heavier moving.
I live in CT and use my V8S as a daily driver all year round with the exception of snow days where I also have a Range Rover Sport.
Don't even change to winter tires - just careful with throttle inputs.

Polaris makes a good point - it's fine as a daily driver, but not as an only car. The convertible trunk is miniscule, though I can shoehorn my golf clubs in. But you're probably thinking coupe, if you're planning to drive it year-round. Test drive a convertible anyway, just for fun.
Yup, would not consider an F-Type in the role of being the "only car". Just asking from the perspective as a primary DD, and looks like the responses so far are unanimous. Appreciate the feedback.

I use my R as my DD and plan to drive it year round. It's got AWD so that'll be a big help. A good set of snow tires for the winter is a must however. I drove my Maserati GT last winter with a set of snow tires and it did just fine.
I daily drive mine to the office. I have 2 other roadsters, but so far F-type holds my almost exclusive attention. To the point that I am now selling one of the other two due to lack of interest.
I have Subarus for hauling stuff and driving in the winter. F-type will go to sleep once snow shows up. MSS summer tires on it exclusively.

I drove my XF supercharged as a year round Dailey driver with a winter set of Nokians (will be up for sale). Was fine in snow country here except for really bad days, when I used the LR4. I don't plan to drive my f type R this winter but would expect it would be fine also. Hidden potholes and curbs are winter dangers, also would get Xpel treatment minimally of lower areas of car and hood.
The Coupe is absolutely a daily driver as it has plenty of space for luggage for 2, and is more comfortable than any other vehicle I've had. Since I have far better tools for the task, I will not be driving it in the snow or on ice, but that's just a few days a year here. Since I want to keep it a long time, I commute with it only 1 or 2 days per week, but still put on close to 12K miles/year. The heavy commuting miles I throw at the MINI for economy reasons (18k).
