Thumbs up

I like the new hood too, the window exposing the supercharger is an attention-getter. And maybe not generational, I'm a Senior!

@sgvkirbster: do you have photos from a further distance away so you can see the overall effect from various views?

Still... it's going to take some work to get that smooth and avoid sanding into the fiber, unless they sand and skim it with filler. I'm anxious to see the results.

Tough to tell how the hood looks because of how terrible they made that car look as a whole.

Sure is! I'm glad this hood appeals to u! Age is unimportant; it's how young u feel at heart. 😉

Everything will be done next week. Hopefully everything will look flawless. Fingers crossed.

So here we go..... Just got this bad boy back from M1 Auto Body in El Monte, CA yesterday. Decided to use the modified engine cover cuz that SC is just plain ugly. To anyone that's interested in also purchasing this hood, the fitment is off a little. Not sure if it has to do with the new hood, or that it's the car itself. If memory serves me correctly, even the stock hood never looked exactly flush. Anyway, here's some pictures. Enjoy!

That SC is atrocious looking.

Changed it out to the all gloss-black side vents.

Yuck!

Much better with the cover!

I actually like the hood a lot more than I thought I would! My only gripe is that cut-up engine cover. The mesh just does not look good. I think the factory cover but with two "supercharged" emblem just above or below the "Jaguar" would look clean. That's just my .02 though, take it or leave it lol.

Something like this:

Under the circumstances, I feel its the best I could do. I wanted to cover up that ugly SC but still be able to circumvent the heat. So it was a compromise. Thanx for your 2 cents. Always glad to hear other opinions. The engine cover that says "supercharged" can be found on an XJ. (I have a 2011 XJL-Supercharged). But it seems to be a different fitment.

Can you take pictures farther away from the car, for a better overall view?

Oh I was just saying to add the emblems to the OE cover but anyways I see your point about the excess heat (my cover is off too). You should bring it down to the next meet! I'm sure a lot of people would love to see it in person:

The fitment where it meets the bumper cover over the wheel looks a bit tragic but it is fixable. There are two bolts that when loosened give you a lot of wiggle, and you can add some shims too. It'll tighten up that gap significantly. It kind of complements the black top I think.

I just took those two bolts off on one side and there is so little adjustment I doubt it would achieve anything.
Have you had a look at the six bonnet (hood) stops? Hexagonal black plastic/rubber things about 3 cm across. Two on each side and two across the front. They screw in and out (down and up) and determine the height at which the hood closes. Screw them clockwise to lower, anti-clockwise to raise. The four on the sides just might be way high and need to be screwed down a bit.
