Looking at the Jaguar USA site and comparing them one of the big differences is a limited slip differential on one vs NOT on the other plus one with Sport Suspension and the other with Sport Suspension WITH Adaptive Dynamics etc.

2014 Jaguar F-TYPE Price & Models | Jaguar USA

F-Type has characteristics of Carol Shelbys Cobra (no, not the Mustang Cobra, the real Shelby Cobra). Just my opinion and nothing more or less. Might get one when they come out this summer in Tx.

The only problem with these cars can be summed up in two words: Public Roads. I think it would be a good idea if everybody but me gets off Public Roads for at least two hrs a day so I can use my car.

That thought occurred to me as well. The V6s compare to the 289 Cobra and the V8 compares to the 427 Cobra. If you look at the 1/4 mile numbers and top speeds the F-Types meet or exceed the Cobra's numbers. Not to mention they are lot more comfortable. I suspect a fair number of V8 owners will do a performance upgrade to about 550-565 hp so in those cases look for a 1/4 mile time in the mid to high 11s.
