Differential issue after seal replacement
So I just had the dealership replace the leaking front seal on my differential, and it made a few odd noises on the way home. (occasional "clunking" like something was loose in the trunk)
The next time I drove it the noises were louder and that then developed into a louder clunking and an almost grinding sound when turning at low speed.
At that point I realized that they must have done something wrong during the repair and drove straight to the Dealership.
They checked it out and determined that the technician had filled the diff with the incorrect fluid.
With the fluid replaced, the noises are now gone but my question is, was there a possibility of damage to the clutches or gearing in the differential from the time it was driven with the wrong fluid in it...?
Has anybody else had a similar issue?

Can't answer that, but some previous folks have reported after seal replacement, that either fasteners weren't torqued properly or there was an alignment issue (don't remember which) which caused some noises. There's at least one more thread on differential issues.
Good for you for listening and returning the car quickly. Doubt there is any damage, the noise was likely because they didn't add or use the correct friction modifier and the clutch plates were not releasing smoothly. that said, wouldn't be a bad idea to have paperwork somehow document the events in the rare event there is a future complication.
