Default Does this car exist?

Love my f type V8S conv. But my dream car would have the specs below. But I don't think its exists other than a used F430.

Mid engine
Rear wheel drive
Convertible
6 speed stick
350+ hp
NA engine

The closest I can think of is a boxster GTS which i feel is under powered. I had a 997S with above specs but I don't prefer the rear engine feel.
Thoughts?

Look into Lotus, though anything that would have the power that you want will be supercharged.

They should have a convertible Evora out within 2 years.

The other car that fits this is the Audi R8, though, it has all wheel drive.

Not too many mid engined cars these days south of 500bhp or with a stick.

I'd do a convertible Evora with a stick if they make that one day. Mac 650s and F 458 are killing me with no stick option. I'm still awaiting news on the mythical boxster GT4

neither are lookers imo. Ferrari really off the mark lately although the 488 rear is decent but the front is wrong. If they could match the front of the F12 with the rear of the 488 then they would have a good looking car, like the testatrossa or the 355 etc.

McClarens are just butt ugly to my eyes.

Gator is looking for something above 350hp. The parasitic loss from AWD will just slow you down. At 550hp you need the AWD to get the power to the ground . The only reason to go with the AWD on the V6S, for example, is for winter and wet weather traction.

Just like the way RWD feels/handles. Want a modern, mid engine roadster that harkens to yesteryear. Thought the new alpha would do it, but it's flappy paddle. I could cut the top off a cayman gt4 if they never bump up the boxster.

Yes! 360 and 430 spiders w 6 spd manual fit the bill exactly. But I hear upkeep is atrocious.

I'm seriously thinking of adding a 360 or a 430 and have been looking for a while. The six speed on both adds an appreciable premium, the F1 cars are generally cheaper. Maintenance does seem to be less than it can be for a 355 which was also on my list at one point.

The one they've been promising for the past 50 years?

Or a more recent version

Keep dreaming!

Read Doug Demuro's column on Jalopnik - he wrote about his 360 ownership for a year. A MY2002+ 360 isn't that bad for upkeep.

Here the piece on what it cost him to own it for a year. http://jalopnik.com/heres-what-it-co...ear-1669923931

McLaren MP4-12Cs are getting real cheap after deep depreciation. Should be able to pick one up around $150K. MSRP $250+

You know.....I'd have an easier time bringing home a new car for $250k than trying to explain to the far better half that I just bought a used car for $150k. (Though, the former would be no picnic either)

Considered it, but not a stick. Same w 458. I know they are faster but I just enjoy shifting significantly so my next car will be a proper manual. I just don't want to go back to a 911. The new boxster spider may fit the bill if it doesn't have a nuisance top.
