Default Does this have too many KM on it?

I'm looking for an F-Type R and came across this listing below for an Ftype R in almost the exact spec i was looking for (it would prefer the red leather seats). But the kilometers on it look higher than other examples i've seen on autotrader which are arounf 12000-18000 KM. Is this worth checking out at all?

2016 Jaguar F-Type R VLC TRADE IN | CLEAN CARPROOF HISTORY | NAVIGATI - Unionville $94,888 | autoTRADER.ca

Alternatively, one of the dealer here has a 2016 F Type R coming back which has 6000km on it but they want $110,000 for it.

Mileage isn't really an indicator of the condition of the car as long as it was maintained. I have a 2016 and I'm only about 3000 miles behind the one you posted at about 16000 miles. I don't know what used car prices are like in Canada but that seems a tick too high converted to US dollars.

The price for a new F type R here is about $130,000 CAD. The $110,000 used one from the dealer is in the exact spec i want (black on red with carbon blade wheels) but i was capping my budget at $90- 95k. Doubt they will come down $15k on a car with 6000km on it lol

These cars are discounted 20 percent or better when new at the end model year. 2018s are coming out. I would think the 6 km model would be $80 to $85k US tops for a $105-110k USD msrp car. Not sure what the Canadian market is like.

thats a good point... the 2018 models are just about to come out, maybe i will wait a bit and see if the 6000km model goes down a bit more in price and grab that.

I think you should expect bigger discount on used car.

However, anything under 100,000km is low-mileage car. Unless you plan to just collect it, which would be a huge waste for F-type.

They might, as $15K off is about what I got off when I purchased new S. They also might discount because PO already took a huge hit trading or returning 2016 car this early.

truth be told, they originally said they wanted $117,000 for it... then went down to $110,000, still out of my budget though. but i guess it doesnt hurt to try to get them down more.

Get your sales guy on the phone.

Tell him.. "I'm buying a car TODAY. I'm trying to decide between yours and another with 20k more miles. We both know 20k is nothing on these cars, but I want CPO and trust you guys. If you can do 90k, I'll be there in an hour". Hopefully, he'll come back near enough to make you happy.

If your sales guy doesn't get your number, call the receptionist and ask for the sales manager. Tell him the same thing.

Car dealers (anyone) want to know you are a buyer. Be a buyer, and at worst, you should get their bottom line.

As a side note, don't wait once you get them to your price. They won't take you seriously if they get there and you bail. And... Once the sales manager is mentally prepared to let a car go at x price, the next guy to walk through the door will get your deal.

Good luck!

I found my Base for $58k on the Internet. I told the local dealer that I had put down a deposit at that price, showed him the ad, and asked him to match it and I'd eat the deposit to work with him instead, and he replied that the best he could do was $73k. $73k for a car with a sticker of $62.5k? I don't think so.

Some dealers deal, some don't.

Unless it was thrashed, the mileage wouldnt put me off. I bought a 2 1/2 year old XKR with 40,000km on it and while it showed some stone chips and the seat leather was stretched, it was otherwise perfect and came up brilliantly after it was clayed. I kept that for another 20,000 trouble free kms.

I figured that the higher mileage indicated longer drives which would be good for the engine, and on top of that the seat was perfect after being broken in by someone else's ****.

But I'd expect a lot off the new car driveaway price - essentially what it would be worth if it was 2 years old, so maybe 30% off. I got a 1,500km demo f type registered for a month for 15% or so off new car price.
