I bought some new Michelin tyres for my wife's car recently and was disappointed to find that one had a manufacturing date of September 2015. The rest were from early 2018.

When I complained to the company I bought the tyres from they said that there was nothing wrong with it but eventually agreed to change it anyway.

I looked up warranty on the Michelin site later and they gave 6 years warranty from the data of fitment unless the tyres were over 3 years old at the data of fitment in which case the warranty start date was deemed to be the data of manufacture. So basically, if I had bought the tyres a month later I would have lost out on 3 years warranty. If the manufacture thinks 3 year old tyres are a problem, so do I!

 

 

I've been traveling. I came home to find these sitting in my garage. Same for me S-Typer - 2014s on the 265s and, 2015s on the 305s. All I can think is "GOOD GOLLY THAT IS A LOT OF RUBBER!". I will try them out at Roebling Road / Savannah in a couple of weeks. I am expecting plenty of grip - rain or shine.

They should make the car feel more sporty - which means they will feel a little hard until they heat up. My experience is they heat up quicker than the Michelin Cup 2s but still take time. I was told agressive braking heats tires the quickest. Also, I'm expecting them to find the grooves in the road - I think the Jag electric steering should handle any swerving feeling very well. "Tramlining" is the term used by tire manufactures to describe side to side pull caused by ruts in the road.

Anyone have them mounted yet? Give us a report on fitment, look, and feel.

 

I mounted just the rears last week. They felt a little hard and slick, but once I got to driving on them a bit they were night and day difference from the P zeros I took off. I had P zeros on my Boxster too and I have found that I am not and don't think ever will be a pirelli fan.

Also not to mention but these tires for sure have a "mean" look to them.

 

Just bought a set for my Mercedes GLA 45 AMG, they look really nice and at around $100 a tire a ton cheaper than the Continentals I chewed up on track day. Nice find!
