I recommend you point dealer at this thread (https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...action-158861/) and tell them that further gearbox replacements will not fix the problem but will get you closer to being able to lemon the car.

To fix your issue multiple parts have to be replaced. It should be 100% covered under warranty. Escalate if it isn't.

My results are in! 5 days at the dealer and I have a new clutch and flywheel. All covered under warranty with no questions asked. Hoping this one lasts a bit longer than 17k miles!

I wish you luck. I haven’t had one last more than 14k miles. (On my 4th clutch now). I have a performance clutch arriving next week that I will test to see if it can serve as a long term solution for all of us.

Time to lay down some rubber to accelerate demise of the old one.

Not very nice of you to refer to our esteemed colleague Unhingd as “the old one.” Unhingd yes but “the old one?”

OH...now I get it. The clutch!

My first job out of college, the admin assistants were wagering whether or not I would make it to the age of 30. Fortunately I got married at the age of 26 and my significantly better half has had a limiting effect on my extreme activities. My visits to the trauma center have decreased.

Just received word today from the dealer that the clutch needs replacement. Hopefully will have it back by the weekend...

As of this morning, I could not shift in any gear with the motor running. Had to drive home in 2nd gear. But I was able to stop and depress the clutch without the engine stalling and then proceed. Time for my third check up so calling dealer today.

That was symptom #3 for me. Your clutch is coming apart.

Brought it right into Cole European. The said it might be done by Friday. They were confident they could get the correct parts overnight. I brought the list of the latest p/n’s from others on the forum(thanks). I am now driving a brand new XE(33 mi). It’s too quiet.

+1. My clutches number 1 and 3 both failed this way.
Buckingham,
Want to be a guinea pig on a high performance clutch? Spec Clutch has one on the shelf waiting for my lightened flywheel to be finished up.

Thanks for the offer. Once my warranty is up, I will consider along with tuning and pulleys.

Update. Cole so far can’t reproduce the problem. Also said the parts list I gave him is from 2016 and there were new parts. I told him I was afraid to drive the car until fixed and that I didn’t want to get into an accident on the freeway or have it flatbedded from Napa.

Tomorrow I go to Cole and drive my car around until the gearshift freezes. If I can’t get it to lock up, I will take it home and when it locks up, call Jaguar Road Sevice and have them flatbed it back. They also said that there were JLR notices on the manual but they were for earlier builds. 2016 was the first year with manual and I got my car in August of 2015. How much earlier could they mean. They said I had the latest clutch components.

The first delivery of regular production units of the MT to the US occurred the first week in July, 2015. To date, I have seen no lower VINs than mine (27733).
