That's slightly lower than mine, so I'm sure you've got the same defective clutch.

Cole couldn’t reproduce it and neither could I so just got sevice done and took the car home. I told them if I get stuck, I would get to use my Roadside assistance button. Not going on any long drives for a while.

Been driving several days and the shifting seems smoother. Quiet and no clunking into gear. They did a brake fluid flush which includes clutch hydraulic fluid bleed. I wonder if it was air in the clutch fluid line.

Quite possibly.

I know this is a pretty old thread & we’ve spoken about it before. Mine is 18XXX

Unhinged, how did you get on with your custom made clutch?

As much as I despise automatic transmissions, this thread is making me real glad I didn't buy a manual!! Couldn't anyway because I needed the AWD and really wanted the V8, but it does make me feel better!

Why do you despise automatics?
As efficient and versatile as the likes of the ZFs are, I can't imagine not preferring automatics over standard. Must be some primordial craving that escapes me.

1) I prefer rowing my own gears 2) I haaaaaaaaate all the nannies that come with autos 3) there are just some things you can't do with an auto that you can with a manual 4) i enjoy needing a bit of skill to drive my car, especially on a launch. 5) driving an auto isn't driving. it's just steering.

I could name literally dozens of little things that either suck about autos or are awesome about manuals, but based on your comment, you aren't a manual lover so you wouldn't really get it and I don't want to derail this thread. Auto and manual fanboys will always butt heads and neither gets the others side. Hell there's a thread about this on the corvette forum (started from speculation about the C8 sales being that it doesn't come in manual) and that thread is like 400 pages long at this point and is still running strong with flaming and mud slinging. Definitely don't want to get this thread down that path, so let's just leave it at "i prefer manuals and you prefer auto".

You must have a pre-production press car. Custom clutch and flywheel still sitting on my shelf waiting for my Gen 4 clutch to fail. The gen 4 has proven to be more reliable than expected. However, given recent report(s) of gen 4 failure, it could be any time now for the custom clutch trial.

Good move. All the flaming in the world won't change any minds. Different people want different degrees of engagement with a vehicle. Some would prefer a self driving car and some like to control all aspects of the experience. I personally, like it that the choke, fuel mixture, timing adjustment and cylinder lubrication is all done automatically, but I'd rather rely on my own abilities to shift gears, turn the wheel and apply the throttle & brakes despite the computer being able to do it so much better. I like shifting so much, my FJ40 has 3 gearshifts, not just one. Thankfully, only one clutch pedal.
