Default Emissions Recall H223

I received a notice in yesterday's mail from Jaguar NA about this recall involving the VIN not being read when subjected to a state inspection.
Even though my state does not have emissions inspections I thought I'd post this as the subject of OBD reader errors has been discussed here and I thought this may have some relevance.

I do not trust JLR with emission recalls. The last time they did something like that they also sneaked-in, completely unannounced, patch to quiet down the car and reduce the pops.

Key words: "the VIN not being read when subjected to a state inspection"

I know of some English-made cars that fail for that reason, also on the same brand, if the ECU is replaced or 'tuned' the VIN shown on the Inspector's test device is different than the car's!

And yeah, if you like your exhaust 'pops', any update could reduce the noise that we love.

@fujicoupe could you either link the recall, or post a picture of the notification?
