Exclamation CO2 emissions

Does anybody know how to get an official Jaguar CO2 emission certificate/letter for an American f-type based on the VIN?

Try by calling them using your own VIN and you will be surprised that they have no CO2 emissions in USA & Canada...
Let me know if the miracle come true!

Ahhh...I didn’t take note of the specific emission. Here in the US they only worry about NOx, CO, and particulates. Documentation for CO2 seems to be for some kind of greenhouse tax assessment purpose. Not an issue here (yet). You’ll need to take it to a vehicle emission testing lab for a one-off certification.

Back up to a green plant and rev a few times. If it perks up your CO2 level is good.

Even for NOx and CO, it is not possible for me to gather these values...
Do you know the way to do it?

They don't recognize any "testing center", I need these values from the official manufacturer "data base" (based on the VIN)

A European certificate of conformity - which is VIN specific, and comes with every car - does include emission figures.
Jaguar should be able to provide you of something similar I guess...

Well..it once took me more than a year (!) to get the necessary papers for a classic car I bought.

Was it easy - no, not at all, and nobody said it would, but not easy still is not the same as impossible

Good luck, and patience for your hunt on the needed paperwork.

If you remove the catalytic converter, then it truly becomes a zero CO2 emissions vehicle.

My chemistry education was admittedly a very long time ago, but I sure you're mistaken.

It's a joke, since the purpose of the catalytic converter was to combine CO (carbon monoxide) and HC (hydrocarbon) into CO2 (carbon dioxide) and H20 (water).

Removing them does in fact lower your CO2 emissions, by increasing CO and HC.

Cool. Humor is often lost in translation to plain text. I was hoping it was a joke, so was trying to be polite in my response. Some people get really wound up about emissions.

Also, I'm pretty sure there is not a table with CO2 data in my owner's manual (US), but it's been ten years since I read it cover to cover. My formal chemistry studies were over 40 years ago

I’m in the same process, US F-type being registered in the EU. I have outscourced it to a specialist. The have the best contacts in this field, which will also same in additional taxes which have to be paid.

I think what you look for is the COC (Certificate of Conformaty). You can buy them online. Like here: https://www.eurococ.eu/en/
I’m not suggesting you use this specific company, it is just my first google hit. There are a lot of offerings with all kind of prices.

Same with me, but it's my informal chemistry studies that get me in trouble today.

There are a lot more elements than there were 40 years ago. I didn’t bother to take freshman chemistry until I was a senior, a tad less than 40 years ago. Physics (or maybe it was psychics) was my thing.

Ha...that is so funny...me too! Physics - mechanics. I enjoyed calculating projectiles.

I actually got to apply it. When I was still in school working on a Mechanical Engineering degree, I hung with a group and one of the guys was an amateur Evel Knievel. He wanted to perform at some local shows. A promoter purchased a ramp (that we could adjust the launch angle). So I got to calculate the speed at the ramp exit and "predict" (calculate) the landing point and speed.

These guys, including evel were all high school challenged and thought I was a genius....little did they know!
