Tardis - I wish you well and you'll be missed around here if you leave the fold. I have to say, I think you'd miss your F-Type, but it's your call.

If the residual value isn't realistic, view it as good news - since it means you paid less on you lease than you "should" have.

If Chase is hanging tough price, consider buying one on the open market. Cheers!

Tardis,
It's been great having you on the forum. Much like Kief's case, I suspect you will be back someday.

I have to ask, what with Mother Nature acting up in all sorts of manner, what exactly did the OP mean by "The End is Near?"

Hell yeah...and I went from a '16 Coupe R to a '17 M3 ZCP back to a '17 Coupe R. I can't imagine making the transition to a Civic! Honestly, nothing against the Civic and all, or Tardis, but it's such a drastic change from the Jag!

And now this:

P.S. Having had 2 NSX's in my past, I've long been a fan of Honda. So while there is no substitute* for my F-Type I do wish WhiteTardis nothing but good luck and happy motoring.

*of course it's kinda nice having a multitude of all sorts of vehicles.

I'd rather ask Ayrton Senna.

M2 has arrived.

This is a car I ordered via email while sat on a delayed transatlantic flight to Orlando back in July.

Has anyone ordered their F-type (or other vehicle) from similar?

In the meantime: Tardis, best wishes as one former F-type owner to another - I'm sure it will be fun to drive.

That car was on my short list as a replacement but dealers around here have none and they're asking over sticker so I crossed it off...ordered a '18 Audi S5 coupe in Navarra Blue with Magma Red interior...now I just gotta wait.

I find it odd that hardly anyone cross-shops Porsches around here- I'm sure they're around, but I've really only seen posts for other makes. I was in the market for a 981 or 718 when I bought the Jag and think it's really the closest thing, considering the number of seats and the drive, but it had too many sacrifices to make it worthwhile for me.

I am a Porsche guy, and had a several Caymans. They are similar in price so i think people have considered them before buying a F-type.

The F-type has kind of a weird market position IMO.
- it is a sophisticated English car, but it has the muscle of hemi or vette.
- it sounds better than any Porsche, but carries around so much weight.
- its design is super sexy, yet its reputation in super conservative.

The Cayman is simple to describe - a lightweight, well engineered, mid engine sportscar.

The Jag - not so easy to describe. I just call it the "Hooligan" to help people understand its not your grandfathers Jag. And, just in case they think "that is a "sweet" car. I have them stand next to it when I start it up with the accelerator slightly depressed. The shock and awe is the same every time.

I never gave it any thought.

I like Porsches and seriously considered the new 718 Boxster S.....but at the end of the day, I couldn't stand the thought of paying the same amount for a pretty basic, entry level Porsche with a 340hp 4 cyl turbo vs. Jaguars, top of the line, every option on the sheet F Type V8 with 500hp.....

They just opened a new Porsche dealer here and I was there on Saturday looking at a Macan for the wife (she says the F Pace is too "manly" looking). Caught myself looking at the Cayman, Boxster, various 911's and even a 918 they have in the showroom. I think the F type V8 is competition for the 911 but you wouldn't know it by looking at the pricetags!
