Engine Cover Impedes Heat Dissipation?
Edit - found it.

Yes, he removed the intercooler but he bought another one which he had polished, then I presume he swapped them straight over.

Removed the cover and left the two heat exchangers attached. Had a local chrome and polish shop do the polishing and had my detailey coat it with the appropriate cQuartz treatment. Just wash it with soapy water and rinse once per year.
The Unhingd one has a post or thread around here somewhere about this, but from memory he removed the intercooler from the car and sent it off to a shop to be professionally polished.

Genuinely laughed, genuinely did not know this. lol
Don't drive when your mind is loaded into a philosophical cannon, but your future touring will be met with an understanding that we're all connected, and the road that carries us into nature is the glue that unites us with the universe.
Now my brain hurts.
Wow man. That was heavy. Reminded me of the old days with Orange Sunshine and Mr. Natural.
I had just read this article with this quote, and was being existential
“The wilderness begins at the edge of my body, at the edge of my consciousness, and extends to the edge of the universe, and it is filled with menace.”https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...ip-alaska.html
Heat is not supposed to dissipate from the top of our engine and nor can it.
If it were they would incorporate heatsinks into the engine cover.
Everyone forces the heat to travel past the headers.
The intended flow of heat is top down not the other way around.
That said, our v8 engines definitely need better heat management in US climate and more pathway for airflow along the firewall.

And part of the drivel is that he thinks the engine is a Ford engine, a Jaguar designed/ engineered engine built in the Ford plant at Bridgend under contract. But not a Ford engine.
You wouldn’t want to do that. Those heat shields protect rubber bits, wires and fuel rails from heat coming off the headers
Bad news, Ford has decided to close the Bridgend plant altogether in Sep 2020
Jag had a contract/lease till Feb 2020.
Jag bosses are rumored to be looking to BMW for the V8. And notably believe in the need for a V8
