Default Engine roar rumble at start up and ECO stop & go

Hi guys,
My question to all of you is, why is it that when you initially start the car's engine there is the nice sounding engine roar but when you come to a full stop at traffic light the engine shuts off, then when you release your foot from the brake the engine starts up again, but .... Without any exhaust rumbling sound. How is that ? How come the car doesn't make any sound from exhaust when the EVO gas saver mode is in use. Engine startup is a startup right ???

Engine start-up after a full shutdown is specifically programmed by the Control Module to give a little extra fuel and open the exhaust ports to achieve an intentionally engineered, and attention grabbing blast of drama and theater.

Engine restart from Eco mode shutoff are, by their very nature, engineered to save fuel, and be as discreet as possible.

And you really don't want to draw attention to yourself when restarting the car at an intersection. Would give the brand a bad name after awhile.

It would be horrendous and incredibly annoying if the car flared revs every time it started up in stop / go traffic / eco mode - can you imagine how silly you would feel and how much it would irritate you?

Typically, most cars have a little higher RPM's at first/cold start up. It's to warm up the catalytic converters to aid with emissions. The ECO modes are starting an already warmed up car so there is no need to add more RPM's than are needed for starting the car.
