Default Engine ticking sound on start up

Hi I have an FTYPE S V6 which has just a 1000 miles on the clock now. When you first do a cold start the engine has a pronounced tick, like a tapper noise which disappears when the engine is warmed up. I wondered if anyone else had experienced this?

I had that as well for the duration of the break-in period. Issue faded away entirely by the time I got to 5000 miles otherwise I would have mentioned it at the one year service.

Thanks Unhingd, hoped that would be the case.

I am having a pronounced ticking noise on start up when cold. Attached is a video of the noise. The noise is not apparent after the car has warmed up. Any thoughts? Should I be rushing this in for service? Does anyone else have this noise?

Take it in to be safe. My valve train noise is quite loud until warmup as well, but yours seems to be more uneven.

I was moving the camera around which had an obvious impact on the volume. I probably will take it in soon.

I accidentally dropped a nut into the carburetor of my '71 Firebird and it started making a noise like that that ended up costing me $4k. So psychologically I wouldn't be able to handle that noise.

My V6 sounds the same. I do not think it's a problem.

If yours does not go away once engine comes to temp I would be concerned.

Yikes that's some chatter. I'd be curious to see what Jag service says about it. My 2014 V8 is quiet at startup.

Mine still ticks when cold for a couple minutes, goes away when its warmed up. Currently around 15k and just had the car serviced 2 weeks ago.

That sounds more like something to do with the belt driven bits on the outside of the engine - based on the frequency.
