Default Exhaust sound R Coupe vs. V8S

Does anyone know if there really has been a reduction in sound between the V8S and the R Coupe? I have heard both and could swear the R Coupe has had the sound reduced. Jaguar North America says it is the same exhaust. I have read several reviews that said the sound has indeed been been "reigned in" some with the introduction of the R Coupe. If this is indeed true, how does one go about getting that primal sound from the V8S to the R Coupe?

Not sure, but I was standing next to a R the other day and ducked when the guy floored it as I thought I was getting shot at.

I thought that the XKR coupes had some sort of piece on the exhaust that was supposed to help transmit exhaust noise into the cabin, whereas the convertibles did not have this piece. I have no idea what this piece is, or if it even exists. However, I'm sure if the piece does exist, it would also exist on the F-Type coupe.

I hope this helps!

Default R is Quieter

Drove my S and then a R back the back and the R is much quieter. It's not bad, just not as crazy loud.
