Default F-Type Drive (Propeller) Shaft Lubrication?

I did a search and came up with absolutely nothing. In fact, I did an internet search and came up with nothing. So here's my question. I have a '17 F-Type S. I often feel a thump towards the rear end of the car when I go from no throttle to all the way down or when I shift gears. Other times it doesn't happen. I'd say it's about 50/50. It actually reminds me of my fathers old GMC truck. You'd get that same sort of thumping towards the rear of the vehicle feeling when accelerating from a start. It turns out that the truck had a design defect and no amount of lubrication of the drive shaft would fix the problem. Then I remembered that I have to lubricate the drive shaft of my RWD Honda S2000, which leads me to the following question. Is there a way to lubricate the drive shaft of the F-Type?

Your THUMP may be the rear diff. There are a few Topics here.

That said, there are no grease zerks on the propshaft (as old cars used to have).

One of my practices while waiting for oil to drain, is to squirt all the propshaft u joints with silicone spray. That keeps the rubber supple. (I do that to all the rubber suspension bushes, too.)

I searched on "differential" and only found five topics. Most were related to noise or grinding. None were related to a thumping feeling. Any ideas for better search terms? BTW, my F-Type has a manual transmission and I remember paying extra for an upgraded differential if that makes a difference.

I’ve noticed the same with my V6S manual. I’ll report back eventually when I have it back in for service but probably not soon.

The lash on the F-Type mechanical LSDs is excessive. I believe it is exacerbated by the direct mechanical connection between the MT and the diff. (The effect is dampened by the AT fluid).

So normal behavior - nothing to have checked?

Bring it to the dealer’s attention. Even if they say it’s ok, you’ll have it on record that you brought it to their attention if it subsequently fails out of warranty. That’s what I did 35k miles ago. Hasn’t gotten any worse. Eventually I’ll either have a good tranny shop shim the pinion gears properly or I’ll install a Quaife.
