F Type Goes After 25 to 54 Year Old Males
The link below is from an older, yet interesting article about Jaguar's marketing strategy. That said, I guess I am young at heart, as I passed 54 quite some time ago.

That 25-54 group sounds way too optimistic (if it's for sales). I'm guessing it's more like 30-60. The cheapest F-Type is still about $70K once you throw in the floor mat options. Very few 25 year olds can afford $70K car. Now, it could be part of the bigger strategy to get them to eventually buy the XE, which I'm guessing is more like $30K ish.
I completely agree with you. That being said I am 25, so it's not wrong either.
54 way back in the rearview mirror! Am I hurting Jaguar image? But we have a Maserati also,we're nuts!

Targeting range is funky for all that was said already. Makes me laugh as I love my F-Type....and feel that I am ageless, happy, and defying the marketing geniuses logic, and will continue to do so :-)
And that's why they make both...different strokes for different folks.
I was the perfect demographic for the F-Type. 48 years old, and a 911 owner. The dealer even gave me more trade-in value for my 911 than the Porsche dealer was offering, which led me to believe they are really going after 911 drivers.

I'm 34 and never even considered a Jaguar until I saw the F Type. It's stunning good looks shock me so much that from the time I saw one for the first time I had drove 250 miles across two states and bought myself one within 48 hours. They hit a homerun with the F Type.
Until the F-Type came out I was not in the market for a Jag and if I hadn't seen some of the great reviews I'd have overlooked it completely. I'm glad I did, as my FTR is so much nicer looking inside and out, and close enough in performance to the 911 Turbo that I don't feel bad not getting one.
I was looking at the Porsche turbo as well. Had not even considered a Jag until a colleague who does open wheel racing recommended I look. Bought within 3 days. I have to have a convertible. When I get off work after a long shift, I put the top down and punch it! In my area Porsches are everywhere. I have one of the only F-types

just north of the demo- firm 911 advocate but had a patient who lost his 430 in Sandy and wound up in the f type- he talked me out of the c7 and into the f. I do not like the ragtop and as some may recall my first 2 weeks of coupe ownership put me in a convertible s which I didnt really like, if that was my test drive id be in a c7 right now
