I just can’t get by the front end and to a lesser extent the lower rear.

I think Uhnhinged and Ftype17's may be sports cars. Unhinged may need to toss his nav system/stereo and replace his seats and he might be there. There may be a few others reaching that definition.

Already looking at replacing the seats, but my wife really likes the bun warmer.

If you just replace one seat. Will you be a ricer?

The fun with the F-Type is that it is what YOU want it to be ! I bought it as a GT and I do not need to go 0-60 in warpspeed...
For me its comfortable precise handling, agile turning and flowing through the curves in a relaxed and comfortable way,
without my spine shattered from the odd pothole or my skull flattened from a landing after an unexpected launching..
But we did put the most heavy duty brakes we found logical, which to us were the V8 standard brakes...
as you can never have "too-much" braking reserves..

Now if we had bottomless pits of dosh and had been aiming for the extreme, we would have bought a V6 or V8,
wrenched it through the customising process, and ended up with a beast... ..as a sportscar.

F-Type is definitely a GT. Way too big, fat, and heavy to be a pure sports car. In motorcycles, there is a class called sport-touring. Basically sport bike engines/chassis with a more upright position. At best, the F-Type is Sport-Touring.

I still marvel that JLR came up with the fantastic F-Type design that is the perfect size, shape and proportions to be an ideal sports car, went to the trouble of making the body panels out of aluminium, yet it still ended up 800 lbs too heavy to be a sports car.... Still, I love this car anyways despite this shortcoming.

Except sport tourers are known to be able toa carry more stuff than sportbikes. The F-Type...falls short there. It's more like the Hayabusa or ZX12. Not a sportbike and not a sport tourer.

Default Sorry - wrong thread. Still getting used to forum lyf

I did that route 1.5 weeks ago and not a cop in sight - usually there are tons so I take it easy, like a sunday drive. Just before I got down to San Gregorio a Firesand F-Type SCREEMED past me going the opposite direction. Made me happy I put one on order.

The vert does fall a bit short in that category, but with the privacy shelf removed, the coupe has plenty of luggage space for two people to comfortably travel across the continent.

I agree on the front end. I'd save the $25k and go with an F SVR. Power to weight ratio is actually the same due to the Jaguar having a more powerful engine. I like the F Type interior more as well.

These new seats cool the fishing pole and tackle, and it's a tingly feeling that leaves you feeling spirited. It's sundress season, and I do believe it's loved by both genders. Both the season, and the chilly tingle.

I'm guessing those fancy seats can't be retrofitted to a '16, but would seriously consider them if possible.

Now I feel unreasonable, because as lovely as they are in a mild climate, I can't imagine how hot your neck of the woods gets, but I have sat in enough of your traffic to know that they would be a delight. Can't everything be retrofitted? I'm very confident you could do this. Also, I can help, because I'm visiting a new baby near your house around the third week of May.

I would say this thread offered some help, but I already saw you joking in there, hilariously I might add...

Imo definitely a GT. As much as I like the car, the darn thing is way too heavy, and not nimble enough to be a sportscar.

OR...Crazy thought...GT Sport?...🤔

It's somewhere in between a GT and a pure sportscar. It lacks the luxuries that would make it a true GT (and luckily the weight).

I just watched the Grand Tour ep 11 or 12, anyway the hosts were taking current GTs across Georgia and Azawhatever. Good film. Anyway, their choices were Richard - Bentley Continental GT, James BMW 8 coupe M design whatever (not that interested so didnt pay much attention, a rare occasion where my opinion didnt align with that of Mr May...), Jeremy Aston DBS Superleggera (my favorite car, currently). For what it's worth, their take on a true GT seemed to be more that you had to have a lot of power, a great ride, a lot of cabin comforts, and room for plenty of luggage, so as to be able to cross a continent in style and comfort.

.... and speed. Totally agree with you and the DBS is next on my list also
