I've never owned a Japanese car and won't be swayed by a fast Honda.

 

I used to own an MR2GT. It was fun to drive - sideways.

That it only had 167bhp may suggest there was an issue, but I used to enjoy watching others fail to take the turn in my rear view mirror...

 

If someone offered to swap my F Type R for a similarly low mileage Lexus LFA if do it in a heartbeat.

 

Yeah, I'd have to admit I'd do that too.

 

Again, it's an issue of using the right tool for the right job. For the track, absolutely, I'd take the LFA. Aesthetically, though, it's a bit adolescent looking to take your main squeeze to the symphony.

 

I don't care how the LFA performs, you still have to look at it! And it's not something I would want to wake up next to every morning. It's ugleeeey.

 

Agreed, and I have the same immediate, negative, visceral reaction to the Nissan GT-R.

I had a lot of Zcars ending with '92 Italian styled body. All were fun and best value at the time. The Audi TT replaced those in my mind and now the 2 seat selection is pretty broad but much more expensive. That little Toyota FRS is only reasonable priced sports car for young people. Japanese seem to have manufacturing power when it comes to price, look at 370Z, not my favorite, dollars for performance.

 

Should have included Miata, of course!

 

I just can't get excited about Japanese cars anymore. And I'm Asian! After the Supra/RX-7/NSX days it's been all downhill for the Japanese auto makers.
