Can anyone assist me with information on how I can change the region of the sat nav in my 2017 F Type R AWD?
I imported the car back to the UK from South Africa. After many back-and-forth trips to the dealer, I am lead to understand that the South African maps seem to be on the CPU/hard drive and cannot be changed without changing the CPU/hard drive, which the dealer tells me is a difficult and expensive job.
I am not, however, completely convinced. I bought the car in SA at the beginning of 2019. It is a model that obviously stood in storage for a while when jaguar brought too many into the country, over-estimating the demand. It is pre-facelift, so probably manufactured early 2017, or late 2016, although only first registered in 2019. When I bought it, the Sat Nav did not work and asked for the SD card to be inserted. I returned it to the dealer, but not understanding how it could be looking for an SD card, as there is no SD card slot, just a single USB slot. When I collected the car, unfortunately the service reception person could not tell me how they fixed it, but it worked without a problem thereafter.
When I go into the Sat Nav, I can "Select Map Content", which offers me two different maps; both of course in southern Africa.
Can anyone tell me if it is really such a big job to install the correct map into the system and if so, approximately how much it would cost to change?
