Just collected my new F Type last week. Overall a great car, however the sat nav appears to select odd routes (usually through towns) rather than taking the more direct route. Anyone else experienced this?

 

Check out your Nav settings. You may have it set to shortest route rather than fastest route.

 

My experience with 2016 MY sat nav is there are various settings such as use toll roads, ferries etc.

Also you can choose alternative routes, mine will offer a choice of three routes including shortest distance, quickest journey time and another that I can't remember.
Haven't got owner manual in front of me so can't give more helpful details currently

 

You can also set areas to avoid and byways.

 

Mine sometimes seems to take the most picturesque route. I have gone 3 miles east then 5 miles west to get to a destination.
