Default F-Type rear badging

In some videos and print materials, I see F-Types with and without the rear "F-Type" and "S" or "R" badge underneath the brake lights. Was this a factory option to have the rear badging or not? Or was that applied to -all- vehicles, and if an F-Type does not have the badges that means that someone manually removed it?

Ours, for example, does not have rear badging. I am the third owner and don't know the history.

Likely removed by a previous owner. If you want them....they are easily purchased and replaced. Just molding adhesive holds them on.

If you are ordering a new F Type there is an option to delete the badges.

I spent a great deal of time looking over every option available in the months between my deposit and getting an order slot. I don't recall seeing anything like that for my 2016. I actually got a badging upgrade free of charge. Mine was (incorrectly on both counts) labeled on the rear as an AWD R.

I did not see this option for 2022. Where exactly is it?

I had the exact opposite issue on my 2018. Mine is an AWD R-Dynamic, but I have no AWD badge. I inquired about it and was told not all 2018 AWD models had the AWD badge.

Mine doesn't. I like secrets ...

That's interesting. I just went completely through a "Build My Own" process for a 2022 model and didn't see the option. So then I went back and did it again for a 2021. I didn't see that option for a 2021 either. I am sure that it was an option for a 2021 back when I ordered mine in February. There was no charge, it was just a "delete" option. There was a photo of the rear of the car with no badges if I recall.

Ya sadly there were a couple options I missed out on for my '22 build (if it goes thru). No more carbon fiber interior (huge bummer as it looks beautiful). I saw red seat belts on a 2021...can't do it for 2022.

On a other note, I also learned the F-type doesn't have easy entry/exit. That's kind of a bummer too. Something I got very used to with my P.

What do you mean by no easy entry/exit feature ? My F Type R has a feature where the steering wheel will tilt up and out of the way and then return to the pre-set memory position. Although I have disabled it on my car. I'm not a big guy at 5'8" and 175 lbs so I don't have to resort to contortions to enter or exit my car. Is that what you were referring to ?

They discontinued putting the AWD badges on. They added the AWD badge in 2016 stateside as that was the first year of the AWD. They dropped it in 2018. I assume this is because the R only came in AWD.

To the OP's original question, many people remove the badging for a cleaner look. A few of us have gone the extra distance and removed the leaper, which takes a bit more effort as it leaves two holes in the decklid/spoiler. I ended up adding a black leaper back on, but in t lower position than factory.

For what it's worth, the 'no badge' option on the P450 I bought here in the UK in March '20 simply removed the P450 badge from the rear-right. The leaper, Jaguar lettering and the F-Type badge on the left were still present. I didn't mind the leaper and Jaguar text staying but I had expected the F-Type badge to be removed too. The no badge option is still there under Options -> Exterior Options -> No Badge, in the 'build your F-Type' site. At least, it is in the UK.

Yes most of the recent vehicles we've had have easy entry/exit and the seat will slide back slightly upon shut off. It's especially nice for me because I am 5'2" and I have to scoot my seat way up to reach the peddles. I usually keep the steering wheel low as well.

I didn't have it on my Vette, but did on my Porsche and I just got used to having it. Our F-150 has it as well as does our Hellcat. Just seems like a very common thing to have these days.

I just use Memory position number 2 saved as the seat all the way back, and Number 1 as my setting. I'm the only driver normally, so I don't really need 3 memory setting.

My Vette didn't have it either, and The Alfa 4C had manual seats, that was the biggest pain as I had to move the seat all the way back to get out and up to drive.

Here are two 2018 AWD models that have the AWD badges:

Yes, using #2 memory is definitely an option if needed. Again, I was just surprised it didn't have this feature. It seems the type of car to have it.

But, I nearly bought a GT4 and that has a manual slider as well so... I can adapt when necessary. I just don't know how long it would take to really annoy me. Luckily it's not a DD and I'll only put a few thousand miles a year on it.

Luckily my new home has a 700 square foot garage. I have enough room to swing the door completely open for getting in and out of the car. My previous sports car was a Nissan 370Z and I lived in a condo with a very narrow garage. I had to make like a contortionist to get in or out of the car and had a piece of carpet stapled to the side wall in case the door bumped it. If the seat and steering wheel had an auto memory function that would have really helped !

Using one of the seat memory settings is a good idea. Does anyone remember the early 1960's Ford Thunderbirds that the steering wheel swung out of the way when you opened the door ?

I tried to use one of the memories as a parking position - raise the seat up for better visibility, as I like it low for driving. Good idea in theory, but it doesn't raise the front and back of the seat simultaneously; it would raise the back first, which would pivot me into the steering wheel, then it would raise the front. Not useful, but amusing.

I'm pretty sure Jags used to have that some 15-20 years ago too but for some reason discontinued that feature. If I recall correctly the modern S-Type had it but the XF which replaced it in 2007 definitely didn't.
