Hehe mine is black actually, think it would look better if I black out the pillars. Get the convertible looking somewhat as good as the coupe (with the roof closed)

I think you can have it done quite inexpensive with wrapping foil.... .. balck-pack +++

For under $6 you can get a roll of 3" wide electrical (vinyl) tape from Amazon and mock it up yourself. It wouldn't have the same gloss, but you could put it on and see how it looks on your car, in person. If you don't leave the tape on long, it'll come up without damage or residue. Then, if you like it, do it properly.
Hehe thanks guys. I actually don't have the car with me yet, it's getting the parts swapped from my base V6 (I've just upgraded to a V8s) so will likely only get it back by the middle of next week. Will be sharing more details with everyone soon .
The A-pillar wrap is a definite go though, think it looks much better!
I like it, but to me it just looks like someone redesigned the f type after drinking a litre of rum and watching 3 hours of ****.
More like being with a woman for the first time and doing a line off her back.
Shame on you for not recognizing the features from the car you once had and loved.
A spacious grand-tourer with a place to hang your jacket and bring along your grilfriend's friend.

Well I've gotten all excited and ordered a roll of gloss black wrap to give it a go on mine. That'll be next weekend's fun, and I think it should look pretty good on an IRR coupe. If I'm not embarrassed with it, I'll post a pic or two.
I wasn't kidding. I guesstimated that 2" would be to narrow to properly mock it up, but that 3 would work. Put it on and you'll know right away if it's for you, although you'd need to use a little imagination on the gloss. For $6. And you'll still have 50 feet of tape. The 2" vinyl wrap is $30, and might not be wide enough. Besides, I wasn't about to recommend DIY on any kind of wrap. Not after the last discussion on that topic.

Got to see what looks like a stock db11 but in same colours as the dbs superwhatever at a centre yesterday, just amazingly good though I'm not sure about the goatee
Mate, the goatee is very clever, it gives the front end a more slender look, not like our XKR where the main grille is in competition with the necessary lower grille.
In a way its what you are trying to do by separating the top of the car from the body.
here you go, and what a tasty **** it is. Earlier in this thread a contributor suggested it would be easier to to the wrap in the aston because of the sectioning of the roof, and that is very true. I didnt appreciate how much of the back section was black.
Also this car is a lot longer than our f types, it looks to be a bit longer than my XKR was (it also has the pretend seat in it) though it might be that the black is giving it the illusion of being lower and flatter. But I have my wrap so I'm going to have a go at it today.
.
long
OK, bear in mind I am only playing with the wrap to see how much I like the look. If I like it (and I think I do) I am going to get it done professionally as I do it in sections but I wouldnt want joins.
So I started with it short, like the red pillars on the astons whatever that another member recently used as inspiration for his wrap job. I then went medium, following the curve of the quarter glass, and finished long with the wrap essentially going from the quarter glass to the curve at the bottom of the hatch. You will notice I just kept putting wrap over wrap so the finish is getting worse, though I personally like the look of the "long" style better. I ran out of wrap and couldnt try the full aston look which I might end up going for anyway. Excuse my bins...
