F Type in Specter James Bond Movie?
I just watched the new James Bond movie "Specter." The "Aston Martin" Daniel Craig drives when he is chased by the villain in the Jaguar concept car looks a lot like a F Type. I googled my observation, and the results stated that the Aston Martin driven in the movie during the chase scenes is a "concept vehicle" not street legal. The villian's car was the concept Jaguar, M's car was a Jaguar, and the SUV's used during the airplane scenes in Austria were Range Rovers, same company as Jaguar. Perhaps Jaguar et al made a deal with the movie company. My point is, was the car driven by Daniel Craig a modified F Type? Anybody else thinks the same thing?
I can see some similarities but they are totally different. I guess I am conditioned by experience to instantly tell the difference between a front engined and a mid-engined design. Totally different proportions.

It's nice to see they didn't stray too far from the Aston look, that would have been a big mistake. In fact it looks like they went back to the larger taller Vantage style grill. So much nicer than the narrower DB9 grille. We will all see next week. Sad to see the NA engines go, but the price of progress.
the main body line I like, the roof line I don't because is looks at the rear like the Nissan Maxima new "separated" roof. from the full side profile, if you ignore the roofline break I see a little F-Type lurking there. Nose is solid Aston. Interior seems meh.....quality high but styling just ok. I am sorry they are losing the sound of the old V-12. My overall impression, just fair to middling. Not as big a departure from the DB9 as I expected.
Curious to see if they will be able to tune the Mercedes bi turbo V8 to sound like an Aston V8, that will take a miracle.
At first, I see it's a V12 Turbo and I say, whoa!
But then I see it's only 5.2 liters and puts out 600 HP. That gives it a 0-60 of 3.9.
So I'm left wondering, why 12 cylinders when a V8 does the same thing?

From that video, it sounds like it's a small engine. Sure it sounds good, but it doesn't sound nearly as good as our 5 liter V8. I just don't get making a V12 and only having it be 5.2 liters.

I disagree, the F Type V8 is loud, crazy and unhinged sounding. But it's not even in the same league when compared to the Aston V12 whether turbocharged or NA. Look up the Vulcan on YouTube and hear what the 700 HP NA V12 sounds like. No V8 could ever sound that good.
