And that's great.

However, the literal word infotainment was created as a word to encompass both the entertainment aspect of the car (music), and information (climate, parking sensors, camera view, navigation system, etc.) on one screen.

What that has anything to do with being a millennial (use of screens for cost efficiency) or being a hardcore "all I need is the exhaust note" kind of person is beyond. I'm the 26 year old around here, but dang I feel old having to explain this very common sense aspect of a car to those which I suspect probably have a few years on me.

All you need to do is watch Doug Demuro (Millenial "car enthusiast" #1) gush over getting a 10 day weather forecast and sports scores for 27 minutes, drive the car straight ahead for 2 mins, then apply a Doug score.

The pano roof or convertible top give you the only weather that matters. The only sports that matter is the word front of car.

Ok is good. Please understand the desire to turn cars, a staple visceral pleasure for many-a-generation, into a glorfied phone is a disturbing trend for those of us who grew up in the physical world.

Is the above photo supposed to demonstrate its good looks or just how ugly the front end really is?

Funny you should say that, I first thought the pic posted by sparky fuze was a photochop exaggerating how ugly this car is but after a bit of searching it appears to be the real thing!
IMHO one of the fugliest cars I have ever seen.

I agree that I think the newer grille was quiet a step back from a design perspective. That being said, OZ -- you don't think it looks good even in the below spec?

Yeah, that looks not quite so bad.

AMG or whoever makes the design calls ovrr there needs to look at their review process. It's obvious they have a corporate culture that is unable to stop stupid. The front ends of some of their production cars should have been dismissed at the first sketch.

As awful as Silence of the Lambs meets Shark Tank looks, it is really symptomatic of a dysfunctional organization that forbids common sense course corrections.

The new grille is a failed attempt to draw from the heritage of the 1950s racers.

Still, you have to give them kudos for employing designers with visual disabilities.

Both cars offer an exhilarating driving experience. The AMG is more refined and technically advanced; however, the F Type is AWD, which is great for my climate, and more raw. I'm in no hurry. My decision will overwhelming be based on how attractive the deal is for either one with the options I desire. For the right deal I'll buy either one. As a buyer in an over supplied niche market I'll walk if the seller doesn't treat me right.
