Yes, it seems they all have the wiring already in place and are "plug and play".
But no way you are going to be able to swap removed plates to another car, to get the old plates off you must destroy them and there is no way around this that I can see. Well at least not with the OEM "plain" plates as they are glued down way too strongly and it's odds on to be the same with the illuminated plates.
Oz. I watched the posted forum video. How long did both sides take you time wise? I would expect a Jag technician who has done it before to accomplish in 3-4 hrs total?. I would expect the untrained, a 6-8 hrs?

I'm getting a bit slow and feeble in my dotage plus I have a few medical problems so I always go very slow and careful when working on the car these days.
Also no lift, done on trolley jacks and axle stands.
I did it over two consecutive days, I reckon the first side took me around 5 hours and the second side around 4 hours so some 9 hours total. That included lots of studying of the instructions and thinking time the first day.
Which means someone younger and fitter than I should be able to do it in around 6 or 7 hours and an experienced Jag tech who has done it before and with a lift should be able to do it in under 4 hours.

Edit - forgot to add - there is one little trap for young players with this installation.
The long thin body panel under the door has to come off but there is a "mini mudflap" thingamajig just in front of the rear jacking point and the damn thing is riveted to both that body panel and the frame rail, so it holds the body panel on. I puzzled for quite a while over how to get it off but what worked for me was to simply cut through it with a hacksaw blade right where the panel joins the frame rail. It's only softish plastic and it cut surprisingly easily and no-one except me will ever see the cut or know it is there. And with the panel back in place the cut is almost invisible.

I would likely fall into the same category as you Oz. Although I don't have the jacks. I believe Jag tech rates are $150-180/hr. here if you can believe it. So maybe 600-800 to install them? I'd have to think about whether it is worth the time to do myself (and the risk). I will evaluate my lust for the lighted sills. I do like them in my R. Would be nice if you could get lit SVR plates with a British flag emblem thrown on for good measure. The agony never ends.

Here's something much simpler and less expensive than banging off sill plates, and IMO perhaps a bit more dramatic.

Puddle lights.

Very nice. Now if I can get a custom one to look like one of the Mr. Levine's Maine Jag Tour logos, that would be something. Where did you buy yours? It looks very sharp and red too!, (can you get one to project a carbon fiber image?)? I would consider adding this to the mods even if no custom or carbon fiber option.

I bought mine at Ali Express, I found the link for those puddle lights at the thread below....and now it looks like the link is no longer working. At the time when I ordered they would not ship to the US, so knowing that they shipped to Australia I figured I would try another Commonwealth country and sure as they hell they shipped them to a friend in Windsor, Ontario.

Yep your SVR was discussed a few times on this thread during the past year. It was a Jaguar corporate car used for press events and auto magazine reviews. Congrats on your rare SVR specimen.

Is there a way to find out if there was ever a US F-type black SVR convertible with a red interior? I was thinking it would look great next to our 2020 F-Pace SVR black with red interior. There actually is a white svr with red interior here in las vegas, I went to the dealer to check it out. I don't know if the owner, or maybe one of the salespeople were using it as a DD, but it just seemed to scream "neglected". The drivers side seat bolster is just about shot, the drivers side door panel is covered in black marks, dozens. Anyways, I love the red SVR interior and am looking for a black svr vert with it.
