I'm sure some folks browse car sites like I do when bored but....
Holy crap...

That terrible accident happened a short time ago in Florida, but miraculously no one was seriously injured. Obviously, the driver wasn't paying attention. For the Jaguar, it's good to have 9 lives! 1 down, and 8 to go! Here's a scarier video:

"This crash is a perfect example of automated emergency braking is not only a good idea, but will be required in all new cars as of 2029"
Looks like 2028 will be my last new vehicle....

Yep, the newer ones like mine have it. I think it was introduced with the MY18 facelift along with the other safety stuff like lane keep assist and automatic speed warnings. It's all nicely implemented in the F-Type though. The AEB never ever bothered me and it's the only actually useful safety feature as opposed to the LKA and speed warnings which thankfully can be permanently turned off in the settings.
The AEB only popped up on a few rare occasions when I was actually approaching another car too fast. I just saw the warning though and I never got so close to a crash that it actually had to hit the brakes. It would definitely have kicked in in that kind of bus situation. When it comes to tracking it never bothered me when I've been on the Nürburgring but maybe more aggressive track driving than I usually engage in would trigger it.

Probably not a forum member here based on the events after the crash:

Also, who was taking that video from the sidewalk? Seemed a little too coincidental, no?

Do you think that video was from a fixed intersection AI-triggered traffic cam? If so that's pretty good scanning.
Glad injuries were minor. Alas another rare F-Type is gone...speaking of which we never heard about the genesis of this crash:
