I'm still in the process of deciding what options I'd like on an F-Type if I can come to an agreement with a local dealership. Most of the F-Types I've seen have bright chrome plated fender side power vents. I think they look fine on the silver, but not on any of the other colors. You can get them gloss black as part of the $600 Black Pack 'S', but I can't see that looking good with any colors other than black. Perhaps Dark Sapphire or British Racking Green would look OK, but I'm not sure. Has anyone had their side power vents painted to match the exterior color of their car? If so, pictures please.

It's a pretty easy piece to have wrapped. I did mine in gloss black to match the hood vents on my 15.

How much did it cost you?
edit: Actually, what I want to know is how much these vinyl jobs cost when wrapping vents or small portions of the body. Just a price range if anyone knows...

I think that I'd actually prefer the color of them to match the exterior of the car. I went by a local dealership and looked at a British Racing Green F-Type. I think it looked great except for the bright chrome side power vent.

I actually like the chrome around the grill and the satin chrome wheels.

You should have no problem getting a body shop to paint the side vents to body color.

You could even purchase another set of the chrome side vents for under $300 and have those painted, keeping your factory ones available if you ever sell the car.

Vents were $40, tail lights were $140.

meefer, would you mind posting a picture of your gloss black wrapped side vents? I picked up my car yesterday and am trying to decide which way to go on this. Also, how close is the gloss black on the hood vents and the wrap?

I'm glad my rhodium silver has the black pack. Chrome is lost on a silver car.

thanks Meefer. When you have a chance can you submit a pic of the grill surround? I am thinking of either vinyl wrapping my mirrors and plasti dipping grille surround and logos/emblems on the boot.

Thank you

Funny. I like chrome the best on silver precisely because it's not noticeable. I'm actually considering having my side vents painted British Racing Green.

Regarding the side vents, how difficult is it to remove and reinstall them?

the side vents are easy to remove, but expect to break some of the clips. I got one off ok, but the other broke the securing clip nearest the edge of the front door.

Some jaguar instructions require you to drill two holes, other instructions are to just pull it off.

I used a plastic trim lever at the top, opened the relevant door and pulled the centre edge of the vent closets to the door, both came off, and as said one broke

we put carbon fibre replacements on so didnt need the old ones.

Thanks for the pic. Looks great!
I have the Black Pack, but I'm likely going to Plastidip my ginormous side skirts and front winglets since they are body-colored. I figured Platsidip would be easier for me to DIY compared to wrapping as I can see myself butchering that up! If the Plastidip doesn't hold up, then I'll go the wrap route

If all goes as planned this will be in my driveway in 7-10 days with carbon fiber

Is that factory or aftermarket? Where are you getting them?
