I don't use OMG very often, but OMG. The F-Type is such a beautiful shape, and then someone goes and bolts on what appears to be a fixed wing on top of (?) the existing pop-up wing. Why, why, why. Sure, I know it can be removed, but then there are holes to fill and paint to be touched up, but sheez, some people.
Didn't realize the factory did it. Wonder how it attaches, but removing and making it look like it was never there would likely be costly. It being there looks like it blocks about 25% of the already very limited rear visibility.
That's the genuine Jaguar "Sport Design" fixed spoiler that replaces the deployable rear spoiler. I just installed one myself. It needed to be painted to match the car, but everything can be swapped back, no holes to fill or any touch up necessary.
Initial impressions are that the standard deployable spoiler looks better at rest, but not deployed. Visibility is slightly worse with this than spoiler down, but better than with spoiler up. Is it a little more boy-racer? Yes to my eye, but my mother said it looks good, and she's pretty conservative on that sort of styling. I may eventually go back to stock, but I'll keep it a while and see how it wears on me.

Stock spoiler when up blocks more view than this. It's more limiting than stock spoiler down, but not as much as you might think. Visibility is definitely better than stock on the freeway.
Ah, okay, thanks guys. I realize that looks is entirely subjective, and I don't care for the pop-up wing, either, visually, but understand the intent (I think it's somewhat functional).
I love my fixed rear spoiler - and it doesn't advertise the fact that you've exceeded the speed limit (in the UK).
The deployable spoiler looks really naff (to my eyes) from the back when it's up.

Love my rear fixed spoiler as well. Sets the rear of the car off amazingly well. I almost think the back of the car (like most Porsches) is missing that added touch that this brings.
Clearly like any other thing we do to our cars-its subjective. I normally like a bit of a wing on the "right" car but I actually love the lines of the Jaguar "as is" and feel the fixed wing deters from the clean lines. And I had a couple 911's; one twin turbo with a wing that raised and later a S model with a RUF wing which looked amazing IMHO. And go figure-I liked both of them.
I wasn’t a fan of the fixed spoiler at first but always thought the rear lacked something, I started to dislike the raised spoiler , to small and ridiculous going up and down, One day at a car meet I had it up while driving off, a guy shouted your boot is open, that was it.
Kept searching for fixed unit, was going tor svr type but then a fixed one popped up on another forum, got it with all hardware including module for £350 , had to get painted from white to caledra red , love it and anyone sees the car says it looks better with it.
Like the convertible only looks great with the roof down, the coupe only looks great with the deployable spoiler not deployed. Coupe with fixed spoiler looks great all the time!
I know that it's highly subjective. For me, I wouldn't be beyond disconnecting the wires to the rear wing so that it just stays down all the time!

That's where Jaguar owners are so considerate - they drive something beautiful so everyone else can appreciate it, while we have to look at their fugly cars.
