Default Front Emblem Swap

Hi guys,

I just recently got an F-Type V6 S conv. and I've seen pics of similar cars with the red "growler" on the front grille. I'd like to replace my chrome emblem(pictured below) with a red one and I was just wondering if someone could tell me what the process entails as well as where I might be able to find an OEM emblem and not some cheap Chinese knock off. Is it difficult to remove the original or does it just pop off? I wanted to ask the helpful people here before I did something stupid and ruined my new baby.

The badge has a self-adhesive backing and separates between the chrome and the black plastic surrounding it.
Not very sticky, so it pries off easily with a plastic pry tool. Part number C2D52972. EBay or parts.com will likely have the best price. Just put that part number into the search box.

Thanks for responding, Unhingd. Do you know the best place to pick up an OEM red emblem and I see them in 70mm and 85mm sizes so I'm wondering which one is correct for the F-Type. Thanks again.

Hi STS-V. May I ask where you got your emblems? I want to make sure I get the real deal and not some cheap knock off. I found this from a U.S. seller, but don't know if it's the right one:

I just measured... 85mm is the correct size.

I am not able to recall the exact reason for the change by Jaguar, but I believe the Black Growler was applied to all models of Jaguar up to and thru 2014. I also believe some 2015 variants were Black and some were Red... something like the Red Growler started in 2015 on the R, and then all variants in 2016.

Someone will surely clarify my mis-recollection if any.

Yeah, I just went out to the garage and measured mine. It's 3.3" which corresponds to the 85mm size emblems I've found online. Now to figure out which one to get and where to get it. Can anyone tell me if the eBay one in my previous post is legit?

Might have depended on paint color at some point too - my car is Salsa Red, with a black growler. Red really wouldn't have worked.

The part number is not correct. What year car do you have?

I have a 2014 F-type V6 S. If you could point me in the direction of the correct red emblem it would be greatly appreciated.

don't buy the chinese cheapies on ebay; they screwed up my order and the one I got looked inferior (no big surprise). I ordered the right one from my dealer in red to replace my black one.

This one says genuine OE and lists F-Type as one of the compatible vehicles. It's 85mm as well so I'm thinking it might be the one to get:

When I replaced the grill on my XKR with a Mina grill, it came with a red growler and everything was good quality. If you want to call them they might have them at hand.

You are correct. C2D52972 replaces C2D45429, so that would be a great deal.

What color growlers are your wheel inserts? They should match IMHO

They're red which is why I am looking to swap out my chrome emblem for a red one.

OK, just one more inquiry to the helpful members here. Is this an OEM emblem that will work on an F-Type? It lists part # C2D45429 which I believe is an OEM part, but I just wanted to make sure before placing the order.
