Any pointers to which forum you're talking about? It's all a bit vague.

Ah, that one. I didn't recognise it from the "signing over their life insurance" bit. It's quite civilised, but not as techie as this one. Us Brits don't seem to be as keen on modding, maybe because of our ultra conservative insurance companies.

A lot of very nice people there, and very welcoming to the p300 owners.

Actually, having done some quality driving in England, their environment is worlds better than what we have in the States. Sure, lots of traffic cameras, but mostly in areas where safety imposes lower speeds. Conversely, when you get off the motorway and away from congested zones, the B roads are an absolute blast...and they make up the lion's share of roads in the country. And they're generally driven by folks that actually know how to drive, and enjoy doing so. Amazing how you can get our hustle on when the grandma in front of you knows how to turn a wheel. And I'd offer too that the cops aren't in the business of generating income from speeding tickets to the extent to what we have in the States either.

I don't know how true it is, but there was a rumour a while back that traffic cops here had a monthly quota so you had to be careful in the last week of the month as they played catch-up! Fortunately(?) nowadays, cutbacks have reduced the number of traffic patrols so less chance of being spotted. Not that anyone over here drives recklessly in excess of speed limits, of course.

Fortunately I never get to rent an F-Type when visiting the UK.
As a displaced Brit, I typically visit the UK 2-3x a year.
I usually get to drive a boring 4 cylinder "mid size" rental - but even those can well exceed legal limits.
I must admit to being a bit intimidated by the cameras, and once got a ticket for inadvertenetly straying very briefly into a bus lane (while going slow!!).

In Virginia, it’s pretty obvious when it’s the end of the month because the entire police department is in full force and cars are being pulled over left and right. It’s a very dramatic difference after the beginning of the month.

+1! And the roundabout etiquette is refreshing! UK drivers approach with a disposition to keep it moving as apposed to people here that treat the entrance as a stop sign. What I like best though is how people give way to each other in areas where cars are parked leaving only one lane for traffic flow. The spirit of road sharing is contagious!
