Here’s how I put 8’ grounding rods in my car (at Lowe’s), using the convenient built-in pipe holder.

Honestly, the only reason I go the Lowe's and HD is to feed my DeWalt addiction. My new chop saw is "portable" but with the Rigid stand...
Back in the '70's I had a snow thrower route growing up. Back when the Toro single stage's first came out. Just bungeed it to the back of the Super Beetle.
In the '80's when I was doing property management I had a Spyder 2000. Bungeed the Toro to the luggage rack on the trunk lid.

If it is any consolation, a 'tap' that hard to the bonnet of a Lotus can run $10-$12k. There is no way I could ever drive a car so frail on the street. As to Lowes, no way. Always have a pickup or a beater for such duties.

Default I found a nice idea for a retrofit dash cam

I've been gradually adding dash cams to all my vehicles, mainly for safety reasons but occasionally to record a trip.
I found this very neat solution that replaces the trim below the rear view mirror in the F-Type (I think there are a couple of versions available depending on model year - I have a 2017 SVR vert) with trim with a built-in 1080P forward facing dash camera. There is a slot on the side for an SD card up to 128G and also wifi connection if you want to view and download video. What's also nice is it comes with a custom wiring harness which I think connects into the rain sensor wiring (need to investigate when I install) to power the camera without needing to run wires or find a separate power source.
I have not installed it or tested it yet as the car is in winter storage but thought it was worth sharing. For $99USD the price was low enough that I thought I'd give it a try! Attaching some pictures for reference.

Sports cars are ahole magnets. Had hit and runs or vandalism on all my previous sports cars (Camaro, Mustang, Z4) but nothing happens to my Nissan Juke, lol.

I've looked at dash cams but don't want the clutter nor deal with the wiring. I'll just be extra vigilant on where we park and just use my wife's Subaru to go to Lowe's, lol.

On a side note I expect all future cars, especially EVs, to have Tesla like cameras built in for security. Or for Big Brother to spy on you too.

UPDATE: I tried installed a Thinkware F70 Pro dashcam but couldn't do it in a way that would looks good nor obscure my vision. Couldn't place it middle like most dash cams as the review mirror/Homelink assembly is huge and don't think it would look good no matter how hard I tried to hide the power cabling. I looked at a low driver side install but the angle of the windshield is so steep that the dash cam would rest into a air vent or it would obscure my vision if I placed it higher.

I think I'm SOL with installing a dash cam in the F-Type for now. In the meantime I'll just install the F70 Pro into my Nissan CUV.

I have a small Garmin one on the passenger side of the rear view mirror, right up near the top of the screen. I can't see it at all from drivers seat. And it's pretty out of the way for passengers too.

Here it is in my F Pace. Not sure if that helps. One photo of the install (you'll see it's not quite at the top of the screen as the black box is a toll tag). The other picture from driving position - you'll see it's totally hidden by the rear view mirror when driving.
