Foosh, thanks for hooking me up with those spacers.
Looks good! Glad it worked out.

Thread bump

Does anyone have any pics of these installed on stock suspension?

I got in contact with Lenny, but was told 10mm is too thin for a drm type spacer

10mm spacers really wouldn't look much different than these 15mm spacers. I'll look in my albums and see if I have any pics of the car post-spacer-add and pre-lowering. I suspect I am the only one that actually installed a set of spacers from this particular group buy.

As promised

With spacers and OEM springs (note the substantial wheel gap):

With spacers and H&R lowering springs:

Question And the purpose is ... ???

Hi guys,
Can someone please explain the point to add the spacers. Is it for added stability ? It's not like its making your tires any wider for added traction and handling. Don't exactly get the point of doing something like this. It's not like you now have Porsche size 305 tires in the rear.
Thank you

Appearance only. The additiona1 1-1/8" track will have very little to no impact on handling. Even without the spacers there's plenty of room under the rear fender for a 305 tire (which goes on after this set wears out)

IMO, the wheel faces sit too far inboard and the stance looks better when the faces are out closer to the edge of the fender. And for appearance mods, it's a lot cheaper than any of the other bits that have been discussed.

Wider track might help handling a bit but basically it's to pull the wheels/tire out even with the fenders so they don't looked sucked in...as they do stock.

That being said, mine never made it out of the box and I won't be doing the modifications to adapt these for my car so if anyone is interested in a set, PM me...

Thanks! That I can understand.

Intuitively, doesn't that throw more road grime up on the side of the car?

It does throw more crud and gravel onto the rocker and lower rear panels. That's why it is important to apply protective film to those areas.

10mm Fit Jaguar F Type s Type XF XFR XJ XK 5x108mm 63 4 Billet Wheel Spacers | eBay
Potentially, you'll have two issues with these spacers.:
1) you may need to install longer studs to ensure adequate thread for the nuts. 5 turns is not adequate. A good rule of thumb is that you need exposed thread for at least 1.5 times the diameter of the stud.
2) Since this is a flat spacer without a lip to center the wheel, you might experience some wheel vibration.

Default Spacer for aesthetic purpose ...

In my opinion not worth the money and possibly safety when operating the car. Everyone had different tastes when it comes to modding cars .

Default Truthfully. ...

What the car needs is, sick wide fat tires, as wide or wider than Porsche 911 turbo tires. R Type would look like the true HELL CAT on anabolic steroids !

You might be surprised to find out that the 911 Turbo front tires (245/35-20) are 10mm narrower than the 20" F-Type tires, and only 10mm wider in back (305/30-20). A number of folks on the forum here have already switched to those. Those tires might look larger on the 911 since it is 2" narrower than the F-Type.
(911 is also 1" longer and the same height) For some reason, I thought the F-Type was a much larger car.
