Default Hands on Steering Wheel Alert

Is there any way to disable the "place your hands on the steering wheel" alarm in a 2021 F Type? My alarm goes off randomly when my hands are in the proper position constantly. On a recent road trip it went off approximately evert 10 minutes. The dealership doesn't claim to know what the problem is and "cannot repeat it" so they won't offer a solution.

Where on the wheel are you placing your hands? I don't know if they changed the sensor in the 2021+ models, but I can hang a finger on the bottom of the rim (6 o'clock) and avoid the warning. I am not sure if it's detecting contact, or minor movements or resistance by the driver.

I have a 2021 F Type and have never experienced the alert. I also have the Driver Condition Monitor feature switched off. You might try getting into the menu via the steering wheel buttons and switch off the feature.

I can have my hands directly on 10:00 / 2:00, where the alarm suggests your hands and it alerts. It doesn't seem to trigger when my hands are lower on the wheel, out of "place".

This and your door lock problem suggests an electrical issue on one of the relevant control modules or a battery issue. Maybe even try the battery disconnect trick for at least 5 minutes

Hi, have you fixed the issue with the hands on the steering wheel warning? Mine goes off very often as well on the 2023 car.

Is there a way to just shut off the feature?

It certainly would be frustrating if your dealer was not competent and able to solve issues with a sensor like that,

Don't you love "safety features" that distract you when you're doing nothing wrong?

In the dash menu under settings and driving aids, there should be a check box for ‘Driver Monitor’. Uncheck that and the alerts will go away (as it also disables this feature).
