Harris garage with Jeremy Clarkson video
He's a bit late on singing praises to the F Type.
But, better late than never I suppose.
Watching the rest now. They're making me feel pretty great about my (now 6+ year old) purchase 🙂

Agreed.
Although of course the youngsters here will argue it's just a couple of old farts who have been left behind by modern developments.
I notice that Jeremy's F-Type has an S badge on the right rear bumper cover when the car is blatantly and obviously a base model and not an S, my guess is a previous owner whacked a fake badge on it.

WHAT?! He is praising F-Type from the day 1. He praised it when it was launched (Orange roadster review), he praised it in the perfect roadtrip dvd (red coupe I believe), he praised it in press, he praised it the GT sand job (white roadster) and the he praised it when he bought it.

Great talk by two great guys. Yeah, Jezza has been praising the F-Type since day one and throughout the years he probably made more for the market perception of the F-Type than JLR themselves.
Really good talk about peak car too. I think many of us, also us who are much younger than those two gentlemen, have had similar thoughts.

He has a base. He even said it here https://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=7416 in the article (mentions 335 bhp).
He should buy S for sure - I think he can afford it

Yep he has a base model it doesnt even have S badge on the console nor the switchable exhaust button. Im surprised he didnt get the S model but he says he gonna get another one so more than likely he will get an S model.
They are for sure the 355 mm ones which were factory on the base but never came on the V6S (which came with 380 mm front brakes).
The main tip-offs were Clarkson's statements that it was a "poverty spec model with no options" and the missing S badges on the dash/console and the front grille.
So I decided to look a little harder, and near the end of the vid is a side on shot of the car where I can just make out the anti-rattle clip on the front brake caliper.
As I have said before I can spot a 355 mm brake anti-rattle clip from a million miles away although it looks very similar to the 380 mm brake clip. Even more pronounced is the different shape of the brake caliper mounting bracket but it's almost impossible to see that in the vid.
So it's a base model for sure.
I believe the context here was the juxtaposition of how affordable the F-Type was compared to a much more expensive and in his opinion, worse, modern car. He presented it as a no-brainer. Why wouldn't he just drive an F-Type given the current market.
